I love using props to feel held in a pose as opposed to asking my body to fit the pose. Blocks, bolsters, blankets… they each bring something different to the practice. Which prop do you reach for most often?

Sometimes less really is more. A ball, a wall and a few intentional breaths.

I’m excited to share more of this approach in a Therapeutic Reset Series this fall. This series will include MFR, yin + meditation, and restorative yoga for the nervous system 🤍

One thing I’ve noticed over the last couple of years is how much my perspective has changed. Since working with people navigating chronic pain, trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and life’s inevitable challenges, I’ve realized that yoga is rarely just about yoga.

Every class includes people carrying stories we can’t see. Someone may be celebrating. Someone else may be struggling. Someone may simply trying to make it through the day. It reminds me that we never really know why someone is on the mat beside us.

And maybe that is one of the most important things yoga is teaching me 🤍

I’ve been teaching myofascial release for about 7 years now, and for almost two years at the VA.

I’ve finally put together a page dedicated to myofascial release, including a short presentation that explains what it is and how I use it in my sessions.

If you’ve been curious about myofascial release, I’d love for you to check it out.

I’ll be teaching at the Innovation Conference this February and I’m looking forward to the conversations this space makes possible.

This event brings together people across healthcare, movement science, and therapeutic yoga who are curious about how yoga shows up in real-world settings.

I’ll be sharing my lens on bringing yoga into healthcare. Slowing down, asking better questions, and staying evidence-informed without losing the human element.

If that resonates, I’d love to have you there. The line up is 🔥

Excited and honored to present at the 2026 Yoga Medicine® Innovation Conference. This session is for yoga teachers and other providers curious about healthcare, integrative care and what it looks like to bring yoga into hospitals and large healthcare systems.

The virtual conference is February 9th-12th, with an amazing line up that I am so happy to be a part of. I will be presenting on Wednesday, the 11th at 4pm PST.
