History gave us plenty of things worth learning from. Sun protection wasn't one of them.

As dermatologists, we see the long-term effects of cumulative sun exposure every day, from wrinkles and discoloration to precancerous lesions and skin cancer.

The goal isn't to stay inside, it's to reduce unnecessary UV damage. Wearing sunscreen, seeking shade when possible, and using protective clothing can help prevent premature aging and lower your risk of skin cancer.

The Viking lifestyle is optional. Protecting your skin isn't.

I’m a board-certified dermatologist, and I hate Neosporin.

For minor cuts and scrapes, I usually recommend Polysporin, and honestly, plain old Vaseline is often an even better option.

Here’s why Neosporin isn’t my go-to.
