Christine Hunter is a think Physician Assistant who enjoys working in Family Medicine and has a special interest in Female Health and Pediatrics. She loves that this field allows her to make a real difference in people’s lives by helping them feel healthier and happier.

She first realized that she wanted to go into Medicine when she was in high school. Once, while working in a small-town ER, she encountered a mother with a nine-month-old who was choking and gagging on an easily-removed fortune cookie wrapper. For Christine, that moment acts as a personal reminder that even the simplest treatments can have life-changing effects.

At think, she appreciates that we offer a wide range of services available to the patients. This allows faster, cheaper, and better treatment options. She also enjoys the staff that she works with, and her corner room with a great view. She hopes that her patients find her to be caring and patient.

Christine enjoys reading, bicycling, and has recently taken up quilting during the pandemic. She would love to travel somewhere with a white beach and blue waters.

We recently came together to celebrate four outstanding physicians as they begin their well-earned retirement. Family, friends, care team members, and leaders joined in a joyful event to honor the dedication, compassion, and expertise that Dr. Harry Klein, Dr. Bill Weeks, Dr. Rodney Nitcher, and Dr. John Woodruff have given to our community over their impressive careers.

The room was full of heartfelt stories, shared memories, warm hugs, and happy reunions from years of working together. Laughter and gratitude filled the air as colleagues and loved ones remembered the many lives these doctors have touched and the difference they made in whole-person care at Think. There was also plenty of cake and time together, making for a sweet ending to their wonderful careers.

This moment reminds us what it truly means to care for a community over many years. A physician’s legacy comes from helping patients build a strong, lasting foundation for their health, one that supports them at every stage of life. As these trusted doctors begin a well-deserved rest, we remain committed to giving you clear, steady, and coordinated care.

Thank you, Dr. Klein, Dr. Weeks, Dr. Nitcher, and Dr. Woodruff. Your dedication and kindness will keep inspiring us as we continue the compassionate, integrated healthcare you helped create. We wish you health, happiness, and fulfillment in this next chapter.

Mary Heimes, DPM, is a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine. She earned her undergraduate degree at Wayne State College, completed her podiatric education at Midwestern University in Arizona, followed by a residency at University Health in Kansas City.

Whole Person Healthcare, to Mary, means a collaborative approach across specialties, addressing not just symptoms but the patient’s overall well-being, saying, “Think’s mission is collaborative between specialties, which is important in the field of Podiatry, where patients may have conditions needing prompt podiatric care or other necessary referrals.”

Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, cycling, playing pickleball, running, and cheering for the Husker’s and Creighton. She dreams of visiting Australia’s Great Barrier Reef to experience its vibrant beauty.

We are watching the wildfires in central Canada and other parts of North America. Smoke from these fires can travel long distances, making our skies here in Omaha and across Nebraska look hazy and affecting our air quality.

In the article, we share how to recognize the signs of smoke exposure, who is most at risk, how to protect yourself, and when to seek medical advice.

Wildfire smoke can impact your health, even miles from the source. Learn to identify symptoms, protect your home, and manage respiratory risks with expert advice.

An Advanced Practice Registered Nurse at think, Brain Stoneking enjoys helping patients with heart disease and hypertension. He loves caring for his patients, and first knew he wanted to work in Medicine when he worked as a medic in the military.

What he loves most about think is that its comprehensive structure allows him to practice at the top of his abilities. He hopes his patients find him to be kind and knowledgeable.

In his free time, he enjoys camping, water skiing, and fishing, and would love to visit Hawaii.
