Our residents know a good lunch spot when they find one. 😊

We recently headed out to Talus Spirits & Sustenance I Omaha for lunch, and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere was fantastic, the food was delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed settling in around the table together.

Safe to say, Talus earned a spot on the Parsons House “we should come back here” list. 💛

Around here, 20 beans can buy you quite a lot... if you know how to bid. 🫘😄

Our Bean Auction has quickly become a Parsons House favorite. Everyone starts with 20 beans to spend, then our Activity Team starts auctioning off a completely unpredictable assortment of treasures.

That’s when things get competitive. 🏆

Do you spend big early? Hold out for something better? Get caught in a bidding war over an item you didn’t know you needed five minutes ago?

The Beans are precious and the bragging rights are absolutely real. 💛

We absolutely love when our neighbors from St. Vincent de Paul come to visit. 💛

The students bring an energy all their own: curious questions, big personalities, plenty of laughter, and a genuine interest in spending time with our residents. In return, there are stories to share, wisdom to offer, and usually a few laughs headed right back their way.

When generations spend time together, age seems to matter a whole lot less, and the moments matter so much more.

We’re so grateful for the students and staff at St. Vincent de Paul and for the friendship they continue to share with our Parsons House community. We look forward to every visit!

There’s something about a warm funnel cake that can take you right back. 🎡💛

Summer afternoons, county fairs, powdered sugar everywhere, and that unmistakable smell drifting through the midway.

Yesterday, our Memory Care residents brought a little of that summertime tradition right into Parsons House and made funnel cakes together. There was plenty of laughter in the kitchen, and of course, the very important job of deciding just how much powdered sugar is enough.

The most popular answer was "Probably a little more." 😄
