"Encouragement is one of the greatest gifts a leader can give." đź’ś
Yesterday was one of those moments that reminded me why we never grow weary in doing good.
On behalf of the entire Femi's Heart Foundation family, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to Dr. Viv Ewing, First Lady of Omaha, for taking the time to personally visit our office. We didn’t ask or invite her to come, and we were not hosting any event yesterday either.
Your visit was far more than a courtesy—it was an incredible encouragement, and an amazing support. Thank you for listening to our story, celebrating the lives being impacted, praying for us, and reminding us that this work matters.
Leadership is not only demonstrated from a podium or behind a title. Sometimes leadership is simply showing up, offering encouragement, asking thoughtful questions, and believing in the mission of others. That is exactly what Dr. Ewing did.
As President & CEO, I often have the privilege of sharing the impact of Femi's Heart Foundation, but yesterday I was personally reminded that those who serve also need encouragement. Your visit strengthened not only me, but our entire team.
We are especially honored that Dr. Viv Ewing has graciously accepted the role of Honorary Mother and our Annual Gala Keynote speaker for the 2026 Femi's Heart Gramercy Gala, alongside Mayor John Ewing. We are looking forward to celebrating together on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, as we mark seven years of honoring Femi's beautiful legacy and six years of God's faithfulness through Femi's Heart Foundation.
To every elected official, business leader, healthcare professional, pastor, educator, nonprofit leader, and community advocate: never underestimate the power of your presence. A visit, a conversation, a word of encouragement, or a willingness to learn about someone's mission can inspire an entire organization to keep moving forward.
Together, we can build stronger communities, restore hope, and remind one another that no one serves alone.
Thank you, Dr. Ewing, for leading with humility, compassion, kindness, love, and service. May God continue to bless you, Mayor John Ewing, and your family as you faithfully serve the people of Omaha, and beyond in Jesus's name!.
Honoring Femi. Healing Hearts. Empowering Futures.
