Fatema Kapasi opened A Place At Home - Dublin in January 2024 with a clinical background, a business development track record, and a lot of early mornings knocking on doors.

Two years later: 70 active caregivers, two additional territories, and a 2026 Franchisee Excellence Award — one of just 50 awarded across North America.

Her story is a good read for anyone serious about what ownership in this space actually looks like.

Ignite 2026 wrapped a few weeks ago, and we're still feeling it.

Three days here in Omaha. Owners, caregivers, partners, and team members from across the country, all in one room, all moving in the same direction. The conversations, the energy, the moments between sessions — that's what convention is really about.

Some caregivers complete tasks. Others change lives.

Ashia Sells, Lead Caregiver at A Place At Home - Lafayette, was named our 2026 Caregiver of the Year — presented by Dovida North America CEO Mike Boyer in front of the entire A Place At Home network at this year's Convention in Omaha.

In two years, Ashia has become the kind of caregiver families never forget. She sat with a client through hospice and carried his family through their grief with grace. She helped another client reclaim his independence by introducing online grocery ordering when the store became too overwhelming. For a client whose dementia is progressing rapidly, she shows up every day with patience and dignity — and his family now considers her one of their own.

She earned her CNA certification while working full time and raising her son. She leads as our Lead Caregiver in Lafayette. And she does all of it quietly, without seeking recognition.

This one was well deserved, Ashia. We're so proud. 💛

One of the things we take seriously at A Place At Home: showing up.

Not just with systems and training — but in person, on the ground, alongside our owners when it counts.

Business Performance Coach Jennifer Axelrod recently made her way to A Place At Home - Pearland to spend time with owner Lynn Quals. Together, they hit the pavement — visiting referral partners across the area including PAM Health Rehab, Gentiva Hospice, Trinity Oaks Pearland, Sinceri Senior Living Creekside Memory Care, and Brookdale Pearland. Real relationship-building. Real community presence.

They also swung through A Place at Home - Sugar Land to have lunch with franchise owner Neil Patel — so Lynn could connect with someone a little further down the road and get a feel for what growth looks like in this system.
