Two exercises I recently gave a golfer dealing with low back discomfort during their swing

The goal isn’t just to “stretch the back” or avoid the movements that hurt.

We want to figure out why the back is getting overloaded and build the mobility, strength, and control needed to handle the golf swing better.

These are just two exercises from one golfer’s individualized plan, your solution may look completely different.

Having low back discomfort when you golf? Let’s figure out why.

Me: “I’ll explain this runner’s workout in 30 seconds.”

Also me: talks too much 😂

Apparently I needed another 30 seconds.

Also, this isn’t an entire workout, just an example of some of the exercises I might use with a runner.

Every runner is different, and the right exercises depend on your individual needs, limitations, and goals. That’s why I start with an assessment and build the plan from there.

Want a plan personalized to you and your running? Hit me up. 🏃‍♂️

You started doing these exercises…

And now you’re:
• Turning further without forcing it
• Hitting the ball farther with less effort
• Feeling better after 18 holes
• Not reaching for Tylenol before every round

Maybe the problem wasn’t your swing. Maybe your body just wasn’t giving you what you needed.

If your body is holding your golf swing back, send me a DM with “GOLF” and let’s see what’s limiting you.

Had a little break in the morning, so you already know I had to go swing the clubs. ⛳️☀️

Beautiful weather, a little time outside, and some golf. Doesn’t get much better than that.

And as always, feel free to pick apart my swing 😂

Dry needling isn’t just about sticking needles into a sore spot.

I use dry needling as one tool to help decrease muscle tension, improve mobility, and make it easier for you to move the way you’re supposed to.

The goal isn’t just to make the area feel better for a few hours. It’s to figure out why you’re having the problem in the first place and use dry needling alongside movement, strength, and mobility work to address it.

Whether you’re dealing with:
• Low back or hip pain
• Shoulder or neck tension
• Tight muscles that won’t loosen up
• Sports-related aches and pains
• Limited mobility

Dry needling may be one piece of the puzzle.

At Precision Physical Therapy, we combine hands on treatment with individualized exercise so you can get back to what you love doing!

DM me if you want to see if dry needling could be a good fit for you!

First day of school for our littlest! 🥹❤️

His first day of daycare, and what better way to start it than having his big sister lead him into his room. 🥰

They grow up way too fast!

Right low back pain in a baseball player.

For rotational athletes, I want to look at how the hips, trunk, and thoracic spine work together to create and transfer force.

Here we’re targeting the posterior and oblique sling systems to improve hip stability, trunk control, and rotational strength so the lumbar spine doesn’t have to do more work than it should.

The goal isn’t just to make his back feel better. It’s to build a body that can handle the demands of throwing, hitting, and rotating without constantly dumping stress into the low back.

Build the system. Don’t just treat the symptom.

A little family time in the Black Hills this past weekend ❤️

A great reset, some quality time together, and a much needed break from the daily grind. But I’m ready to get back at it!

Huge thank you to all of my clients for working around my schedule while I was away. I appreciate you guys more than you know!

Back in the clinic and ready to get to work.

Let’s get after it!
