Help our Legislators understand the importance of allowing "observation" days in the hospital (as opposed to "inpatient") to count towards the 3 midnight inpatient hospital stay requirement, to ensure access to the Medicare A coverage benefit in a Skilled Nursing Facility. Often, patients are unaware that they are classified as "observation", not "inpatient", while in the hospital. When they need rehabilitation at a Skilled Nursing Facility following that hospital stay, they don't have a payer to cover, therefor end up going home, usually leading to a poor outcome.

Happy Thanksgiving from Regency Omak to you! Last week we enjoyed hosting family and friends for our Thanksgiving Dessert Social, which was a huge hit. I can speak for all of us here, we are most thankful this year for our residents, their families, and our amazing staff.

What a fun day with the best staff. Halloween is all about being silly and making the residents smile and laugh. We understood the understood the assignment, there were smiles for miles, and which's cackles up and down the hallway. One resident named me (the skeleton) Bony Maroney...LOL! Happy Halloween everyone!
