🎃 Help Us Spread Some Halloween Sweetness! 🍬

Our Lake Song residents are looking forward to welcoming local trick-or-treaters on Friday, October 30, from 3–5 PM!

We’re asking for candy donations to help our residents hand out treats to all the little ghosts and goblins who stop by!

Donations can be dropped off at Lake Song before October 30.

👻 Families are welcome to bring their little trick-or-treaters through our dining room to collect treats and share some Halloween smiles with our residents!

Thank you for helping make this a fun event for our residents and community! 🧡

Lake Song recently celebrated National Assisted Living Week! 🥰

After kicking things off with our Grandparents Day celebration, the week continued with plenty of adventure, laughter and appreciation for our residents and staff!

💤 Pajama Day kept things comfy and cozy.
🦁 Safari Day brought out the wild side, complete with a scavenger hunt for our residents.
🎶 Our monthly birthday party featured great entertainment from Brad Brown - and even a little dancing!
🤠 Wild West Day included a good old-fashioned roundup and horse races.
🌈 Joy Day filled Lake Song with bright colors, smiles and plenty of cheer!

Thank you to everyone who helped make Assisted Living Week so special. We’re one big family here at Lake Song! ❤️

❤️ Sunday, September 13th we celebrated Grandparents Day with our residents and families. Grandkids and great grandkids of all ages. Reminiscing about memories, photo ops, a little sing along, and games for all ages. Thank you everyone for coming and making this day special for all. We had the “Wall of Fame” showing all the generations of kids, grandkids, great grandkids, and even great, great grandkids!!

🎉 100 years worth celebrating! 🎂

Lake Song had the very special honor of celebrating resident Roy Kuhlman’s 100th birthday on August 16!

The celebration started with a special doughnut cake at bingo and continued with balloons, treats and plenty of birthday wishes from family and staff. Roy even received a handmade birthday card featuring 100 candles in honor of this incredible milestone! 🎈🍩

🌽 A beautiful evening for a corn feed at Lake Song!

A special thank you to Gerry & Karen Kroll for donating the sweet corn and their time to cook up a delicious meal for our residents! Corn is part of their family history, making the evening even more special - with Lake Song resident Lila, four generations of the family helped contribute to the event. 💛

We also had some special helpers join us! Jr. Miss Isle Allison, Lila’s great-granddaughter, and Little Miss Isle Addy spent the evening helping out and visiting with residents.

Our residents and staff enjoyed sweet corn, homemade fixings, beautiful weather and, best of all, great company.

Thank you to Gerry, Karen, Ally, Addy, and families and our Lake Song staff for making such a wonderful evening possible! 🌽☀️

🐐☀️ What a FUN day at Lake Song Assisted Living! ☀️🐰

We were thrilled to welcome our friends from Rocky Acres Ranch, who brought the farm to us for a day filled with smiles, laughter, and plenty of furry friends!

We also enjoyed spending the day with our neighbors from Kidz Zone Daycare Center - 38 children and 12 staff members joined our residents, staff, and their families for a wonderful afternoon together.

Everyone enjoyed a delicious BBQ lunch, beautiful weather, plenty of shade, and a cool summer breeze. The kids had some bubbles & chalk for entertainment as well. Most importantly, the day was filled with special moments and connections across generations.

A heartfelt thank you to Rocky Acres Ranch, Kidz Zone Daycare Center, and everyone who helped make this day such a memorable one for our residents. ❤️

🏆 Congratulations to our very own Jeanne Johnson and Deb Jones!

We’re proud to share that Lake Song resident Jeanne Johnson and her daughter, Deb Jones, a Mille Lacs Health System/Lake Song employee, took 1st Place in the recent MLHS Patriotic Dessert Contest!

Their winning dessert was truly a family effort. Jeanne baked her delicious rhubarb dessert using her longtime recipe, Deb picked the fresh rhubarb from behind Lake Song, and added the patriotic decorative finishing touches.

Congratulations on a well-deserved first-place finish, and thank you for sharing your talents - and a little family teamwork - with all of us! ❤️🤍💙

🧩 More Than Just Puzzles 🧩

At Lake Song Assisted Living, puzzles are more than a pastime - they're a passion.

Several of our gentlemen have become known for their puzzle-solving skills, each with their own unique style and favorite themes. Allen enjoys tackling challenging 1,000-piece puzzles, especially those featuring trains. Roy loves landscapes and unique images, and often builds custom frames to display completed puzzles throughout the community.

Many residents and staff will fondly remember PeeWee, who recently passed away. He enjoyed scenic puzzles filled with fun details and took great pride in displaying each completed masterpiece for everyone to enjoy. His puzzles continue to bring smiles and memories to those who knew him.

Over the years, many completed puzzles have found a permanent home on our walls, turning a favorite hobby into works of art that brighten our community.

A special thank you to Kim, Jackie, Vicki, Debbie, and the many volunteers, staff members, and puzzle donors who help keep the next challenge waiting on the table. Your thoughtfulness helps create meaningful moments and lasting connections for our residents. 😊
