We are so excited to welcome Madison Flowers, a third year Physical Therapy student from Faulkner University Physical Therapy to Encore Rehabilitation—Opelika as she completes her clinical rotation with us 🩵

Madison is from Smiths Station, Alabama, and we’re excited to have her with us as she continues her journey toward becoming a Physical Therapist. She is married and enjoys staying active and spending time doing the things she loves!

A few fun facts about Madison: She enjoys playing pickleball, reading, and cycling. She has a heart for helping people, loves cooking, baking, and attends Smiths Station Baptist Church on Sundays.

We are so happy to have Madison joining our team and look forward to watching her learn, grow, and gain valuable hands-on experience throughout her clinical rotation!

Please join us in congratulating our Patient of the Month for Encore Rehabilitation— Opelika, Cathey Berardi! 👏

After undergoing a left shoulder debridement with a mini biceps tenodesis, she has worked hard to restore her range of motion, strength, and shoulder stability through a personalized program of strengthening, stabilization, and mobility exercises.

Her dedication and consistency have led to great progress and we are so proud of everything she has accomplished!

She said that one of her favorite parts of therapy was the friendly staff, who made every visit a positive experience. We are so thankful she trusted us with her recovery!

Congratulations on all of your hard work and success! Thank you for allowing us to be part of your recovery journey. We wish you the best!! 💙

Encore Rehabilitation, our leaders combine advanced clinical training, industrial rehabilitation expertise, and functional recovery experience to help patients return to work safely and efficiently.

Meet Justin Hargett, PT, DPT, Regional Director of Operations for Encore Rehabilitation North Alabama/Northwest Alabama. Justin has been with Encore for 12 years, serving as Clinical Director at multiple clinics across the region while helping lead operations and clinical excellence across Encore’s Industrial Rehab programs.

Justin holds certifications in post-offer employment testing and ergonomics through WorkSteps and Atlas Ergonomics. He is trained in McKenzie lumbar and cervical spine techniques as well as being certified in dry needling. He brings a strong foundation in manual therapy, orthopedic rehabilitation, and sports performance training.

He earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy from Alabama State University and his Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Auburn University, where he was also a four-year letterman in baseball.

Justin’s work focuses heavily on industrial rehabilitation testing, functional recovery, and sports and orthopedic rehab, ensuring patients receive high-level, evidence-based care individually tailored to successful return-to-work and performance outcomes.

His leadership reflects Encore’s commitment to excellence in Industrial Rehab across every community we serve!

We are thrilled to welcome Tamara Sheppard to Encore Rehabilitation-Opelika clinic as she completes her PTA clinical rotation with our team. Tamara brings an incredible depth of experience, dedication, and passion for helping others, and we are honored to be part of her journey toward becoming a Physical Therapist Assistant!

At 52, Tamara exemplifies lifelong learning and service. As a proud mother, grandmother, military spouse, former United States Army civilian employee, and highly accomplished fitness and exercise professional, she brings a unique perspective and wealth of knowledge to patient care.

Tamara holds a degree in Exercise Science and has earned certifications as a Fitness Trainer, Corrective Exercise Specialist, Sports Nutrition Specialist, and Strength and Conditioning Coach — achievements that reflect years of hard work, dedication, and commitment to helping others improve their health and performance.

Driven by a passion for restoring movement and improving quality of life, Tamara is currently pursuing her next chapter as a Physical Therapist Assistant at South University, where she is expected to graduate in September 2026.

Her mission to combine military experience, scientific knowledge, and coaching expertise to help individuals move better, recover stronger, and live healthier lives aligns perfectly with the values we strive to uphold every day at Encore.
