With international soccer coming to Jordan-Hare Stadium, excitement is building for the Iceland vs. Argentina match! ⚽

Soccer is a fast-paced sport that places significant demands on the muscles, joints, and ligaments of the lower extremities. Some of the most common injuries we see include ankle sprains, ACL tears, hamstring strains, shin splints, groin strains, and quad strains.

Whether you’re competing at the highest level or cheering from the stands, injury prevention starts with proper conditioning, strength training, and recovery.

As we welcome world-class soccer to our community, we’re here to help athletes of all ages stay healthy, recover from injuries, and get back in the game.

🦴 Bone of the Week: The Humerus 🦴

The humerus is the long bone of the upper arm that connects the shoulder to the elbow. It plays a crucial role in lifting, reaching, throwing, and many of the everyday movements we often take for granted.

Humerus fractures can occur from falls, sports injuries, or accidents and may cause significant pain and limited arm function. Treatment can range from bracing and physical therapy to surgery, depending on the severity of the injury.

If you’re experiencing arm pain or have suffered an injury, our orthopedic specialists are here to help you get back to doing what you love.

🦴 Bone of the Week: The Calcaneus

Better known as the heel bone, the calcaneus is the largest bone in the foot and plays a critical role in standing, walking, running, and jumping. It serves as the attachment point for the Achilles tendon and helps absorb the impact of every step we take.

Because it bears so much stress, the calcaneus can be affected by fractures, tendon injuries, and conditions that cause chronic heel pain. If heel pain is keeping you from your daily activities, an orthopedic evaluation can help identify the cause and get you back on your feet.
