Studies On Coffee’s Health Perks
A new study found that those with AFib who consumed caffeinated coffee had a 39% reduced risk of AFib recurrence. Another found that 2 to 3 cups of caffeinated coffee a day is linked to better cognitive function and an 18% lower risk of dementia. It also lowers the risk of stroke and cardiovascular disease and is linked to a 15% lower risk of premature death. The polyphenols in black coffee may also reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes. Another study suggests moderate intake of coffee may improve focus and mood and reduce depression and anxiety. These benefits are mostly associated with black coffee; adding excessive sugar or cream may reduce the beneficial effects.
