As you celebrate with family and friends this July 4th weekend, let’s make safety part of the celebration!

🎆 Fireworks: The safest fireworks are the ones enjoyed at a professional display. Sparklers may look harmless, but they can reach temperatures hot enough to cause severe burns. Keep children at a safe distance and never allow them to handle fireworks without close adult supervision. (Beaumont Enterprise⁠)

☀️ Beat the Heat: Encourage children to drink plenty of water, take breaks in the shade, wear lightweight clothing, and apply sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) throughout the day. (CDC⁠)

🏊 Water Safety: Never leave children unattended near pools, lakes, or any body of water—even for a moment. Designate a “Water Watcher” whose only job is to supervise children.

🌭 Food Safety: Keep cold foods cold and hot foods hot. Don’t leave perishable foods sitting out in the summer heat for more than an hour.

🚗 Car Safety: Never leave a child or pet alone in a parked vehicle—not even for a minute. Temperatures inside a car can become dangerous very quickly. (CDC⁠)

🐜 Bug Protection: Use age-appropriate insect repellent and check for ticks after spending time outdoors.

Today, we celebrate the fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, godfathers, uncles, mentors, and father figures who show up every day with love, strength, patience, and sacrifice.

A father’s impact extends far beyond providing for a family. It is found in bedtime stories, words of encouragement, teaching life lessons, attending games and recitals, helping with homework, offering a shoulder to lean on, and being a steady presence through life’s ups and downs.

Now is the perfect time to schedule your child’s annual well visit, sports physical, and any needed immunizations before the back-to-school rush begins. Appointments fill quickly as summer progresses, so don’t wait!

🏊 Summer Safety Reminders

💦 Water Safety

* Never leave children unattended near water.
* Use properly fitted life jackets when boating.
* Designate a “Water Watcher” when children are swimming.

☀️ Heat & Sun Safety

* Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
* Take frequent breaks in the shade.
* Apply sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) and reapply every 2 hours.

🦟 Insect Bite Prevention

* Use age-appropriate insect repellent.
