I’ve always been fascinated by the connection between our mitochondria and overall health. One peptide that’s really caught my attention is MOTS-C.
Most people know MOTS-C for its role in supporting metabolism, energy production, and exercise performance, but emerging research is also exploring its potential connection to cancer biology.
Current research suggests MOTS-C may be linked to:
• Lower levels being found in several types of cancer
• Anti-tumor activity in laboratory and animal studies
• Helping reduce inflammation and oxidative stress
• Supporting healthier mitochondrial function
• Improving metabolic flexibility, which may help create an environment that’s less supportive of abnormal cell growth
Researchers have been looking at its potential role in ovarian cancer, adrenal tumors, prostate cancer, and even cancer-related bone changes. It’s important to remember that this research is still in its early stages, and we don’t yet have evidence showing that MOTS-C treats or prevents cancer in humans.
While I haven’t personally battled cancer, I do live with rheumatoid arthritis RA. Because RA is strongly tied to chronic inflammation and immune dysregulation, supporting mitochondrial health has become an important part of my personal wellness strategy. That’s one of the reasons I decided to include MOTS-C in my own peptide routine.
We’re learning more every year about the relationship between mitochondria, metabolism, and overall health. It’s an exciting area of research, and I’m looking forward to seeing what future studies reveal.
