STOP is such a powerful tool. Pausing in the moment creates space between reaction and response, and that space is where real change begins.
So often, our reactions come from unprocessed emotions, past experiences, or heightened stress. But when we intentionally pause, we allow ourselves to slow down, observe what’s really happening internally, and choose a response that aligns with who we want to be, not just how we feel in the moment.
From a faith perspective, that pause becomes even more meaningful. It’s an opportunity to be still (Psalm 46:10), to invite God into the moment, and to seek His wisdom before responding. Instead of reacting out of impulse, we can respond with intention, grounded in truth, patience, and self-control.
Sometimes the pause looks like a breath. Sometimes it looks like a quiet prayer: ‘Lord, help me respond, not react.’
That space between what you feel and what you choose to do is where both emotional growth and spiritual alignment happen.
