At the UC Irvine Kidney Stone Center, we use ultrasound-guided techniques for kidney stone treatment that avoid the use of radiation. Traditionally, imaging with radiation has been used to guide access into the kidney during procedures, but our approach uses ultrasound to precisely locate the kidney and target stones safely without radiation exposure.
