Brody T. Regienus

WARE- It is with profound sadness that the family of Brody Thomas Regienus announces his passing on May 19, 2026 at the age of 31. He was a beloved son, brother, grandson, uncle, cousin and friend whose memory will be treasured always.
Brody was born on March 21, 1995, in Worcester to Mark (Regienus) and Shannan. He attended Ruggles Lane Elementary in Barre before continuing on to Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School, where he studied welding. Following school, Brody was primarily self-employed and worked throughout the construction field, including operating heavy equipment, welding, and mechanics. However, his true passion was always working alongside his father running the family sawmill. Brody had a natural talent as a sawyer, and that was truly where his heart belonged. To know Brody was to love him. He was fiercely loyal and devoted to his family and friends, always the first to show up when someone was in need, even while carrying struggles of his own. When Brody entered a room, you knew it — not just from the smell of diesel fuel and the sound of his clod-hopping boots, but from his larger-than-life presence. He was the perfect balance of clumsy, goofy, sarcastic and loud, all wrapped around the biggest heart. His laugh was unforgettable, his spirit one of a kind, and to us, he was truly one in a billion.
Brody is survived by his parents, Mark Regienus of Barre and Shannan Beaton (Michael) of Athol; his brother, Dakota Regienus (Marissa Rice) of Athol; his Papa, James Davis of Athol; his girlfriend, Kilie Paquette; and his beloved niece, Evelyn Regienus. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.
While Brody did not have children of his own, he deeply loved his two pets, who were constant companions in his life — his loyal pup, Clutch, and his cat, Chubbs, both of whom will surely miss his cuddles and companionship.
Brody was predeceased by his brother, Mackenzie J. Regienus; his paternal grandfather, Albert Regienus of Barre; his paternal grandmother, Judith Tenney; his paternal Grampie, John Tenney; and his maternal Nana, Karene Davis. We take comfort in the hope that he is now reunited with them, surrounded by love and peace.
Although Brody’s time here on earth was far too short, the memories he created will live forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His spirit, laughter, and love left a mark that can never be replaced. As the saying goes, ‘The light that burns twice as bright burns half as long,’ and Brody truly was a light unlike any other.
There will be no services. The family will host a Celebration of Life at a later date.

Roger D. Laffond

ATHOL- It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Roger Laffond, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and the son of the late Reginald and Anita Laffond. A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Roger carried his sense of duty, strength, and quiet resilience with him throughout his life.
Roger dedicated many years as a skilled millwright at Erving Paper Mill, where he was known for his strong work ethic and steady hands. Beyond his work, what mattered most to him was his family.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Gloria, the love of his life and his favorite companion whether watching the Red Sox, cheering on the Celtics, or simply enjoying time together. Their life was built on love, laughter, and unwavering support.
Roger leaves behind his children: Dionne (Jon), Troy (Beth), Abbey (Thomas), and Emily (Bobby). He was incredibly proud of each of them not just for their accomplishments, but for the lives they built, the families they created, and the people they became. His pride in his children was constant and unwavering.
His greatest joy was being “Grampy and Pop Pop” to his beloved grandchildren, Darien, Matthew, and Julianna. They were the light of his life, and he treasured every moment spent with them.
He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, many nieces and nephews, and his godson, all of whom he loved dearly.
Roger will be fondly remembered for his familiar place on the porch sitting in his rocking chair, pipe in hand, waving to every car that passed by. Some might say he was keeping an eye on the neighborhood and others might say he was the unofficial mayor of the street, making sure no one got by without a proper wave. It was his way of staying connected and sharing a simple kindness with everyone who passed.
He also found peace in carving wood, creating pieces that reflected his patience and craftsmanship.
Roger’s legacy is one of love, pride, and quiet strength. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Worcester for the compassionate care and support they provided to Roger during his final days.
There are no calling hours.
