The scope of Ayurveda is very vast. It is not only a comprehensive health system which aims to dissolve imbalances and disease it is a system of rejuvenation of mind, body and spirit.
Ayurveda offers treatments for each individual and a wide variety of self care habits.

These consistent self care habits, called dinacharya in Ayurveda, help us to build a happy and healthy life. These ritualistic acts of self love are at the heart of healthy living. Keeping us vibrant day in and day out.

There are so many dinacharya practices out there and what might be good for one might not be the answer for another and they may change throughout the seasons of our the year and the seasons of our life.

What does your Dinacharya look like these days?

A few non negotiable for me are
1. Tongue scraping.
2. Starting the day with a glass of water.
3. Waking early, starting the day with peace and quiet followed by yoga and mantra.
3. Rose water spritz in the AM and afternoon. Helping to soothe pitta on these hot summer days.
4. Gentle stretches and reading at night. Calming the mind before sleep.

Our daily habits have a profound effect on our health and well-being.

I offer Ayurvedic health consults, in which we build a dinacharya that suits you that you can follow and stick to. Small habits implemented slowly over time. That is the key to consistency.
Allow your magical life to unfold. Reach out today to schedule a consult.

"Consistency is an underappreciated form of intentional magic, disguised as a mundane doing."

The heat returns tomorrow.

Below are some signs that you're body is accumulating excess heat.

As the summer continues and the heat builds you may start to experience some of these unpleasant signs and symptoms.

The good news, Ayurveda teaches us that we can apply the opposite quality to find balance.

Stay cool. Take a dip, stay out of the midday sun, exercise in the AM or PM when it's a bit cooler. Take your shoes and socks off, free those pitta feet! (The feet are directly related to pitta dosha). Better yet, dip those feet in cool water! Take a barefoot walk in the dewy grass.
Get yourself some rosewater and spritz yourself, renewing your mind, body and spirit.

These are just a few ways we can help ourselves to stay cool in the warmer months.

There are also foods and herbs we can favor.

Reach out to set up a consult, in which we build a tailored plan for you to stay cool, calm and kind.
Beat the heat with Ayurveda. πŸ”₯πŸ’¦

Ladies in perimenopause, take note...hot flashes?! Perimenopause happens during the pitta time of life. Turning down the heat internally can often help with some of those overwhelming perimenopause symptoms, like hot flashes!
Ayurveda is an awesome guide when it comes to navigating perimenopause and the eventual transition to menopause.
It's never to early or late to make a plan. If you're reading this, you're right on time.

Summer is officially here!
It's hot!

Ayurveda teaches us that summer is governed by pitta dosha - the elements of fire and water.
Pitta is hot, sharp, light, liquid, spreading and oily.

As summer progresses these qualities may begin to accumulate and cause imbalance. Those who are in there pitta stage of life (midlife, 20s to 50s) and who are of a pitta prakriti - predominantly pitta constitution, are more likely to exhibit an imbalance of these qualities.
It's important to know ourselves and be aware of what is happening within us and in nature so we can catch these imbalances before they spiral and become less manageable.

The body speaks, awareness is curative, awareness allows is an opportunity for choice. What we aren't aware of we can't change.

If you're feeling imbalanced or wanting to implement a cooling self care routine for summer Ayurveda can help.
Reach out today to set up a consult. Message me or head on over to my website.
I'm offering a discount on initial consultations throughout the summer season.

I will be at the Gardner library in the evening of June 3rd to talk about Ayurveda and the summer season, which is dominated by pitta dosha, the elements of fire and water.
We will talk about what pitta looks like in balance and out of balance, symptoms we might see when pitta flares and ways to bring ourselves back into balance.
We will wrap up the night with cooling tea blends to enjoy together.
Stay cool, stay calm, stay kind and sail through the summer season easefully with Ayurveda. πŸ’š

I'd love to see you there!
Reach out with any questions!!

I also have a few open appointments for consults this June. If you're wanting a personalized plan to stick to this summer to help you stay cool, grounded and balanced this summer, I highly recommend setting up a consult.

One small shift with BIG effects...

Eat your largest meal for your midday meal.

The sun is the strongest between the hours of 10-2, since we are a microcosm of the macrocosm, a reflection of what is happening in nature, our agni or digestive fire is also strongest between these hours.
We want to utilize this efficiency and eat our largest meal while the sun is highest in the sky and our digestive fire blazes strongly.

We can think of breakfast as break the fast - eating a small meal to warm up the digestive fire.

Lunch - the time to eat our largest daily meal

Supper - a smaller supplement to get us through the evening.

A helpful tip I heard recently that I love...
"When the sun goes down so does your digestion."
(Can't remember where I got that from.)

And ease up on the snacks which tends to bog down the digestive system....
More on that another time.

Make the most of your agni with these simple shifts. πŸ”₯

Ayurveda is a way of life and understanding of ourselves and the world around us. It is a lens in which we view the world in its five elemental nature - ether, air, fire, water and earth and how these elements present themselves as well as how they shift and change throughout the seasons of the year and the seasons of our lives.
When we learn the language of the elements - the 20 great qualities, we begin to understand the language of nature and how we might begin to find balance, by applying the opposite, by finding the middle path.

Ayurveda is life changing, it's simple and it's for everyone.
Humans tend to complicate things. Come back to simplicity. Come back to balance. Welcome yourself to the middle path.

I'm accepting new clients this upcoming season.

Pitta season, the season of fire, is right around the corner. πŸ”₯
Ayurveda can help you to remain cool and refreshed. πŸ’¦
