This is 40!

New baby. New practice. New beginnings.

Never have I felt so much much pain, joy, grief, fear, and love all in one year.

Growing up with just me and my mom—and now to be surrounded by my boys. Life has never felt more bountiful! ♥️

Thank you to my family for enabling me to do all that I do.
Thank you to my patients who still ask if I’m 25 and trust me to be their surgeon.
Thank you to my colleagues for your mentorship and support.

A huge milestone was achieved at Zhu Vision this past weekend with our first successful cataract, custom lens replacement, and EVO ICL cases completed in our state-of-the-art private surgical suite!

There must have been 20+ people & camera crew 🎥 there Alcon - See Brilliantly STAAR Surgical Ziemer to observe and support for which I could not be more grateful 🙏🏻. Patients said that they felt like a V.I.P. celebrity—that’s the kind of care and attention we aim to bring everyday!

The best part was capping off the day with an overflowing stream of happy tears from my sweet patient with a 4+ brunescent cataract who sat up to see the beautiful faces of her family and the world for the first time in a long time! Cured all our dry eye…♥️🥹

20/20 the next day with not a lick of corneal edema or swelling thanks to our best-in-class OR technology suite

I am so proud of our team and special shoutout to the amazing Eye Suites crew for helping us to get our OBS up and running!

It’s an honor to be a 100% physician-, doctor mama-owned practice where we can tailor and deliver the best care from ground up— this is only the beginning! 😌🤗

Whew it’s been a BUSY month! 👁️✨

Last month, I opened the doors to Zhu Vision – Modern Laser & Cataract Eye Surgery in Orange. And today, I’m excited to finally share another chapter that’s already well underway:

I’m a partner surgeon with Dr. Craig Bindi and Laser Eye Center Of Silicon Valley in San Jose, CA!

I’ve been caring for patients at LECSV and have loved getting to know the team and becoming part of such a special practice. I’ve also developed tremendous respect for Dr. Bindi and what he has built at LECSV. Their commitment to providing patients with the full spectrum of vision correction options—LASIK, SMILE, EVO ICL and Custom Lens Replacement—aligns closely with how I believe refractive care should be practiced.

That trust recently became very personal.

After nearly a decade of performing LASIK on others, I chose Dr. Bindi to perform Wavelight Plus LASIK on my own eyes. As a refractive surgeon, I know exactly what goes into that decision—and I couldn’t be happier with my choice…

20/15 (1 line better than 20/20) on postop day 1!!!! 🤗

Today, I get to say goodbye to my glasses and contact lenses of 30+ years!! 👓
