When Dr. George Mychaskiw II, a cardiac anesthesiologist with more than 35 years of experience, came to work at Orange County Global Medical Center, the perioperative team left an impression.

From rooms starting on time to turnover times under 20 minutes, he saw a team that holds itself to a high standard every day. Not because they're told to, but because they take pride in what they do.

"The most efficient OR I have ever experienced in more than 35 years of anesthesiology practice."

πŸ’™ Thank you, Dr. Mychaskiw, for sharing your experience.

June is Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month.

More than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's, and the early signs can be easy to miss. Changes in memory, mood, communication, or daily routines may seem small at first, but noticing them early can make a real difference.

Healthy habits like staying active, eating well, and keeping your mind engaged can help support long-term brain health. And if you're caring for a loved one, small things like keeping routines simple, giving them time to respond, and offering reassurance instead of correction can go a long way.

If you notice ongoing changes in someone you love, don't wait. Start the conversation with a healthcare provider.

This National CPR & AED Awareness Week, KPC Health is highlighting a skill that can save a life.

CPR can double or triple a person's chance of survival during cardiac arrest. And you don't need to be a medical professional to make a difference.

Here's what to remember:
❀️ Call 911
❀️ Start chest compressions: 30 compressions at 100 to 120 per minute
❀️ Use an AED if one is available

Learning CPR is one of the simplest ways to be there for the people around you.

May is Melanoma and Skin Cancer Awareness Month, and in Southern California, sun safety isn't seasonal. It's year-round.

Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the U.S., but it's also one of the most preventable. Here's what you should know:

β˜€οΈ Wear SPF 30+ sunscreen daily, and reapply every 2 hours
πŸ•ΆοΈ Seek shade during peak sun hours (10am–4pm)
πŸ” Check your skin monthly for any new or changing moles, freckles, or spots

Know the ABCDEs: Asymmetry, Border irregularity, Color changes, Diameter over 6mm, and Evolving shape or size. If something looks off, see a dermatologist; early detection saves lives.

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Their courage and selflessness will never be forgotten.

From all of us at KPC Health β€” we remember, and we are grateful.

Stories like Joy's remind us why we do what we do.

When her mother was transferred to one of our hospitals for emergency care, the family wasn't sure what to expect. A nearly month-long stay later β€” from the ER to the CCU to recovery β€” Joy says every team member made a difference. Not just the doctors and nurses, but the security staff at the front desk too.

That's what care looks like at KPC Health. Every role matters. Every interaction counts.

Thank you, Joy, for trusting us with your mom's care πŸ’™

Would you know what to do if someone near you were having a stroke?

Every second counts. The F.A.S.T. method can help you recognize the signs and take action immediately:
πŸ”Ά Face β€” Is one side drooping?
πŸ”Ά Arms β€” Can they raise both?
πŸ”Ά Speech β€” Is it slurred or hard to understand?
πŸ”Ά Time β€” Call 9-1-1 right away.

Stroke is the 5th leading cause of death in the U.S., but fast treatment can save lives and reduce long-term damage.
All 7 KPC Health hospitals offer 24-hour emergency services equipped to respond when every minute matters.

It takes more than doctors and nurses to run a hospital. It takes everyone.

This National Hospital Week, we're celebrating the entire KPC Health family β€” the techs, the housekeepers, the dietary teams, the admitting staff, the security officers, the IT teams, and every person who keeps our 7 hospitals running around the clock.

You may not always see them, but our patients feel the difference they make every single day.
To every team member across Anaheim Global, Chapman Global, Hemet Valley, Menifee Valley, Orange County Global, South Coast Global, and Victor Valley Global β€” this week is for you.

Healing happens here because of you πŸ’™
