FREE CME! Effective management of diabetic retinopathy (DR) and diabetic macular edema (DME) requires sorting through anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) options to initiate an agent when needed or to switch therapies when treatment fails. Also key to successful management of DR/DME is staying current on the approaches to monitor disease activity using optical coherence tomography biomarkers and response prediction. This is particularly important as the new anti-VEGF agents aflibercept 8 mg and farcimab allow for longer dosing intervals. Join Yasha Modi, MD as he dives into the details of managing patients with DR/DME using a treat-and-extend approach.

VIEW NOW - FREE CME! Many patients with macular edema secondary to retinal vein occlusion require lifelong intensive therapy. Join Dr Ip as he presents a case illustrating the challenge of managing patients who require monthly or near monthly dosing. See if you share his management approach for these difficult-to-treat patients. Dr Ip also discusses recent publications that highlight the relationship between anatomic biomarkers and disease status. Importantly he considers anatomic biomarkers that might provide additional clues as to why visual acuity worsens following cessation of very frequent dosing (eg monthly or near monthly) while optical coherence tomograph central subfield thickness is overall stable.
