BIG NEWS FAM! The Millennial Mama Memo is now *officially* a PODCAST! 🎙️🤩
....I mean, it's kinda always been a podcast, I'm just actually calling it a podcast now 😂

I've been wanting to make this shift for a while and I'm SO excited it's finally here! It's the same show, same me, but now it's audio-only. This format fits my brain better, fits YOUR life better (hello listening while driving/nursing/folding laundry/hiding in the bathroom), and feels so fun 🥰

You can find The Millennial Mama Memo Podcast wherever you get your podcasts, with new episodes dropping every Monday. Subscribe so you never miss a memo! 😍

Now, let's talk about this week's episode.

Millennial Mama Memo Episode 13: ART Is Better Than EMDR (Here's Why)

🌸 Millennial Mama Mix: May-cember is over, so this is your loving nudge to make the damn appointments. And actually go to them. You can't take care of anyone else if your own body isn't taken care of first. Start with the basics and work your way up!

🛋️ Pink Couch Post-Its: I'm sharing The Back to Me Method (the four steps I walk every client through) AND breaking down my ART Intensives in full. Two very different tools, both built for you, moms!

💟 Favorites Folder: A genuinely great ADHD organizing book my own therapist recommended: Organizing Solutions for People with ADHD by Susan Pinsky. Works for any overwhelmed mom, ADHD or not.

🫶🏻 One Last Thing: There are two ways to start working with me: Consultation Calls and Resourcing Calls. Choose your own adventure and let's connect!

You don't need to disappear into motherhood to be a good mom.

You need to find your way back to yourself — so you can show up for your kids AND for you.

That's exactly what we do together.

DM me "GLOW" if you're ready. 🌸✨

I was a therapist before I became a mom.

But I didn't specialize in maternal mental health until motherhood broke me open.

My transition into motherhood in 2021 felt like a car crash.
I thought I was prepared.
I wasn't.
I was 24 hours postpartum, getting hooked up to a pump for the first time, watching my mood tank in real time, thinking: what the F**K just happened to me?

In the weeks that followed, I kept coming back to that car crash analogy:
During the crash, I was ejected from the vehicle.
Harper was safe in her car seat.
(Because even in an analogy, I made sure that car seat was installed correctly.)
EMS arrived, surveyed the scene, somehow didn't notice me, took my baby to the hospital, and left me in a ditch.

That's what our system does to moms: It checks on the baby. It leaves YOU in the ditch.

And here's the thing — I'm a THERAPIST.
I knew what postpartum mood disorders were.
I knew where to look for help.
I had language for what I was experiencing.

Most moms don't.

That's why I built Millennial Mama Therapy.

I'm Lauren — mom of two spunky girls, wife, Pisces, late-diagnosed ADHDer, and the therapist who will absolutely RAGE on your behalf about how badly our system fails moms.

I show up with anti-racist values, cultural humility, and a commitment to ongoing learning and unlearning — because therapy is political, and motherhood is political, and it's stupid to pretend otherwise.

I help millennial moms who feel disconnected from themselves after becoming a mom — especially moms who feel like their brain works differently, who get overstimulated easily, who feel like they're constantly dropping the ball even though they're trying SO hard.

You don't need to be fixed. You need to be FOUND.

💌 If that lands — DM me "MEMO" and I'll send you a link to The Millennial Mama Memo, my newsletter where I talk about all of this and more. No sage and beige. No recommendations to mediate more. Ever.

💆🏻‍♀️ Caring for your mental health should integrate into your life (not add more stress).

That's why I intentionally built Millennial Mama Therapy from the ground up FOR parents. Here are just *a few* examples (swipe ➡️)!

In case we haven't met yet, I’m Lauren! I'm the human, mom, and therapist behind Millennial Mama Therapy.

I help parents FEEL GOOD in parenthood—not just survive—by deconstructing society's unhelpful and often toxic expectations so they can discover their unique version of parenthood and THRIVE.

I blend evidence-based therapy, developmental research, somatic tools, humor, and a lot of real-life honesty to create spaces where parents feel deeply understood and practically supported.

I’m especially known for my:

🌸 Grounded, human approach to therapy (I'm a messy human just like you and don't see any reason to pretend otherwise)

🌸 Pink therapy couch + pile of pink dinos (see if you can spot them in my stories!)

🌸 Strong network of referrals and resources (I’m a Connector—it brings me JOY to find the person/service/thing that changes your life for the better)

🌸 Deep belief that thriving is possible—even (and especially) on the messy days.

👋🏻 If you have a moment, say hi in the comments!
Let me know your thoughts or any ideas you have for how I can make my practice even more parent-friendly!

🌿✨ My Heart Is So Full ✨🌿

It took me almost a full week to reflect, soak it all in, and let’s be honest, recover from our grand opening. When you pour your whole heart into something, it hits different when you finally see it come to life. And wow… did it ever.

First off, thank you to every single person who showed up, showed love, or cheered us on from afar. This community is everything. Truly.

Now let me brag on the people who made this magic happen, because credit goes where it’s due:

💛 Deanna Let’s be real… this woman is my left AND right hand. Growing Together would not function without her. She kept everything running smoothly and made the entire day a success. If I could clone her, I would. 👯‍♀️

💛 Lauren from Millennial Mama Therapy She’s been on this wild journey with me from the beginning. I’m so excited for what this coming year brings for both of our businesses. Big things are brewing!

And then the vendors… my goodness, they delivered:

☕️ Morgan + the team at Indulgence Mobile Coffee Co. Listen… they didn’t just bring coffee. They brought an entire experience. Their drinks were unreal, they were the sweetest humans, and their setup was adorable. AND they created the cutest custom photo-booth room with a backdrop and signs. If you’re hosting any type of event, hire them. Don’t think…… just do it.

🎈 The balloon team they partner with Duo Dream Events Their work was perfection. The balloon setup was so stinkin’ cute I wanted to keep it forever. Another 10/10 recommendation.

🧀 Marina from Grazing Gouda
She absolutely outdid herself. That charcuterie table was insane, in the best possible way. People are still talking about it. She always brings the magic, and this time was no different.

🌈 Creative Spirit Learning Center created the sweetest little play area for the kiddos, and oh my gosh… the kids LOVED it. If you’re looking for a school where your child gets to learn, explore, create, and actually enjoy going each day, go tour them. I can say from experience: Raylan absolutely loves it there.

📸 Ashlynn, our incredible photographer
She was everywhere at once (in the best way), capturing every moment, every detail, every bit of heart that went into this day. I cannot wait to go through all the photos, she truly caught the soul of the event. 🫶🏻

To everyone who helped, attended, supported, celebrated, or just sent good energy… thank you from the bottom of my heart. This grand opening was a dream because of all of you.

And trust me, we’re just getting started.
Growing Together has some big things coming, so make sure you’re following along for the journey.
