The most dangerous thing an artist can do?

Put their paint water next to their drink.

Except mine is salt water. 🧂😂

POTS + adrenal insufficiency = my version of happy hour.

🍂 Cozy season is here.

The season of crisp, slower mornings.
Soft layers.
Warm drinks.
Deep breaths.
And clothes that feel as good as they look.

Soleia lifestyle art wear was created for exactly that — wearable art designed for comfort, warmth, and a little emotional exhale.

Because what you wear can be more than an outfit.

It can be a feeling.
A ritual.
A little softness you carry with you.

Art to live in. Comfort to come home to.

Cozy season looks good on you. 🤎 Link in comments below to get your cozy wear today.

✨ The video story behind my art lifestyle clothing line, Soleia, and the Petal Sisters, is finally here!

My art was born from a season of profound change in my life—from nursing and leadership to navigating complex chronic illness, disability, and a completely different relationship with creativity, identity, and what it means to build a life around what is possible now.

In this interview, I had the opportunity to sit down with creator Danairo Thomas to share the story behind the art, the evolution of my work, and how it became more than a collection of things I create.

It became a way to explore softness.

Thank you, , for creating space for this conversation and for helping me share the story. 🤍

I would love to know: What part of my story resonates with you most?

I need to clear up a myth.

You see me creating art and might think, “How nice that she has a hobby to keep her busy.”

But here’s the truth:

My art isn’t a hobby. It’s my work.

I still have bills, groceries, medications, treatments, and a life I want to participate in. But not being able to work a traditional job prevents those things from happening.

Before disability and chronic illness changed my life, I built a successful nursing career. I worked hard. I led. I taught.

Then my body changed EVERYTHING.

And I had to ask myself:

What can I build with the life and body I have now?

A hobby doesn’t have to sustain you. A professional art career does (or at least that’s the goal).

So yes, I paint and illustrate because I love it.

But I also create, market, package, ship, and share my work because I’m building a professional career and a sustainable life around what I CAN do.

I don’t want you to support my work out of pity.

I want you to support it because it speaks to you.

And there are so many ways to do that:

❤️ Collect my work - originals, prints, or whatever feels meaningful to you.

🧡 Share my art with someone who might connect with it. Art is a very personal gift.

💛 Engage with it - comments, saves, and shares help more people find me.

💚 Talk about it. Recommend my work when someone is looking for meaningful art or a unique gift.

💙 Join my email list and stay connected beyond the algorithm.

When you support my work, you’re supporting more than an artist. You’re supporting my ability to build a life around the reality I have, not the one I expected.

And if you’ve been loving a piece from afar and waiting for a sign to bring it home…

Maybe this is it. 💜

I had to get an attorney this year. 😮‍💨

Which is not a sentence I ever expected to write.

But here we are.

One year ago today, I released the very first Petal Sisters coloring book.

And I remember exactly why I started drawing them.

I wanted to go back to childhood.

To that place where imagination didn’t need permission. Where flowers could become people, anything could happen, and you could disappear into a little world of your own.

Because adulthood can be heavy.

Sometimes you just need somewhere else to go for a little while.

That’s what Petal Sisters became for me.

And apparently, they’ve become something bigger than I ever expected.

Two coloring books.
Characters.
Stories.
A growing little universe.

So I decided it was time to protect it.

Petal Sisters® is officially a registered trademark ✨

It’s kind of a big deal.

Not because of the little ® itself, but because it means I’m serious about continuing to build this world.

Think about the characters you grew up with. The ones you recognized instantly. The ones that became part of your imagination and your memories.

That’s what I hope Petal Sisters ® can become, a little world you can return to when you need to remember how to dream.

And if you’ve been here since the beginning…

You were here before the ®. 🌸

One year of Petal Sisters®…

And I have a feeling these girls are just getting started.

Help me celebrate their first birthday with a bang! 🥳

Want to meet them? Start with Book One.
If you’ve already colored your way through Book One, Book Two is here, too. 💐
