Today’s “Plagues of Prosperity”—including type2 diabetes, heart disease, certain cancers, dementia, fatty-liver disease, PCOS and obesity—all have one thing in common… To varying degrees, each is caused or made worse by the inability of the hormone insulin to perform as it should; A condition largely within our control called Insulin Resistance. For over eight years the doctors, trainers, scientis

ts and nutrition experts leading the Insulin IQ movement have coached thousands of people to remarkable health transformations through insulin control. Our pragmatic, outcome-driven coaching programs are anchored in the research being done by one of our cofounders, internationally renowned scientist and pathophysiology professor Dr. Benjamin Bikman. In his book, Why We Get Sick, Dr. Bikman documents both 1) the rise of insulin resistance and its role in so many of today’s plagues of prosperity and 2) how to fight back! With Dr. Bikman’s continuing research as the foundation, Insulin IQ’s coaching programs have been built using the latest in nutrition science, specifically focused on insulin control. Now, you can find the same healing results that thousands of others have benefited from, through our easy-to-understand, affordable and intuitive online coaching programs. Or, if you want in-person accountability, you can find an Insulin IQ Authorized Coaching Facility in your area.

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Insulin IQ Medical Director, Lindsay Venn.

Lindsay was a remarkable woman whose life was defined by courage, compassion, faith, and an unwavering commitment to helping others. She challenged conventional thinking, cared deeply for her patients, and helped countless people improve their health and quality of life.

She was more than a colleague… she was a trusted friend, a gifted healer, and an essential part of the Insulin IQ mission. Her impact will continue to be felt in the lives she changed, the people she inspired, and the work she helped build.

We know many people have understandably had questions regarding the cause of her sudden passing.

While final investigations are still pending, preliminary medical information suggests that she experienced a sudden cardiac rhythm event (arrhythmia) while exercising, which led to a rapid medical emergency.

While tragic and fortunately uncommon, sudden cardiac rhythm disturbances can occasionally occur even in individuals who appear otherwise healthy, active, and physically fit.

At this time, there is no available evidence to conclude that she suffered a traditional heart attack or coronary artery disease, and the underlying cause that led to this sudden event remains under investigation. The medical examiner said her heart looked healthy, and was suspicious of an embolism. A large blood clot that travels to the lungs and cuts off the flow of oxygen and blood.

To Jeff, her children, her family, and all who loved her, our hearts are with you.

The best way we can honor Lindsay is to follow her example: be brave, serve quietly, love generously, and pursue truth.

We miss her deeply, and we are forever grateful for the time we had with her.

Type 1 diabetes doesn’t mean you’re protected from insulin resistance.

When carbs and insulin stay chronically high, the body can become less responsive to insulin… creating what’s known as “double diabetes.”

The good news? Insulin sensitivity can often improve through nutrition, movement, sleep, stress management, and reducing glucose spikes.

Small changes can make a massive difference in long-term health.

Pre-diabetes isn’t the only warning sign your body gives before chronic disease develops.

Brain fog. Weight gain. Poor sleep. Low libido. Mood swings. High blood pressure.

These aren’t random symptoms. They can all point back to the same root problem: metabolic dysfunction and insulin resistance.

Your body whispers before it screams. The earlier you listen, the more you can prevent.

Waking up exhausted every day isn’t normal. Your body could be signaling deeper issues with blood sugar, hormones, stress, or recovery.

Comment TIRED if this sounds familiar.

Metabolism isn’t just about food… it’s about your nervous system.

Dr. Ben Bikman and Lindsay Venn explain how stress keeps your body stuck in “go mode”… and how just 5–10 minutes of daily breathwork can help shift you back.

Not all exercise works the same for everyone.

Your muscle fiber type could be quietly shaping how your body responds to workouts…and your metabolic health.

Resistance training is still the foundation, but if you’re more fast-twitch dominant… adding simple, consistent cardio (even just walking) might be the missing piece for improving insulin sensitivity.

It’s not about doing more. It’s about doing what works best for your body.
