Dr. Cindy caught a TED Talk where a practitioner claimed it's normal to go 120 hours — that's five days — without a bowel movement. She respectfully disagrees. 🙅‍♀️

Here's the logic: when you eat, your body absorbs the nutrients it needs and the leftover waste has to go somewhere.

That's your p**p. So if you're eating every day, you really should be having a bowel movement pretty much every day. Otherwise? You're basically marinating in waste material. 😬

Retirement was designed in 1935 for people who lived to sixty-three.

So why are we still treating that as life's finish line when most of our patients are going to live thirty years beyond it?

As chiropractors we are in a unique position. We see aging patients every single week. We watch them shrink from the life they used to live. We hear them say things like I guess this is just what getting older feels like.

Your MRI came back "normal" — but your back still hurts. So what gives? 🤔

Dr. Cindy explains: an MRI doesn't always show the source of your back pain — because back pain doesn't always start in the back.

It could be improper foot biomechanics. It could be your neck being out of alignment from sleeping funny and traveling down. It might not even be mechanical at all — it could be nutritional.

The takeaway: a normal test result doesn't mean your pain isn't real or that it doesn't have a valid cause somewhere else.

It just means we have to look deeper.

There's a common misconception that headaches always come down to the usual suspects. But Dr. Cindy points to another possibility people overlook: a nutrient deficiency. Ever notice your pain seems to move? There's a real reason for that. 🤔

Dr. Cindy's friend Darren jokes it's because the pain "doesn't like the neighborhood" — and honestly, there's some truth there. Sometimes pain migrates, and it's not always coming from where you feel it. It could be referral pain from another area entirely, shifting based on what you've eaten, your mood, even the time of day.

Here's the other piece: as your body's biomechanics change, pain can relocate too. When one area improves, another has to adapt — and that adjustment can sometimes show up as new discomfort.

So if your pain is moving, it doesn't mean something's wrong with the "location." It means changes are happening in your body — sometimes for the better, but if it's for the worse, it always deserves to be checked out.

Happy weekend!! When your first Waymo ride turns into a whole vibe. 😂✨

Dr. Cindy and Ivy hopped in a self-driving car for the first time — a little nervous at first, then oddly comfortable about 82 seconds in. 😅 No tailgating, smooth driver... who we've decided is definitely named James. (With a hat. Obviously.) 🎩
