If you are in feeding therapy, it should be a fun and happy place for your child! That is how we actually make progress.
That does NOT mean that we don’t have boundaries, expectations, and goals. Striking a balance between feeling comfortable and still gently pushing is very tricky. And the key to great, successful feeding therapy.
Want to learn more? Follow us here! I post real-life feeding therapy sessions to show you exactly how you can help your kids right in your own home. And some a question down in the comment! 👇

I love hearing from parents and therapists questions so we can all learn from each other and can support our kiddos even more!

We know you have tried it all:
⭐️Exposure
⭐️”No thank you” bite
⭐️Keep offering
⭐️Wait it out
The list goes on and on and on
And honestly, for some kids, some of these techniques DO work. But for others, a different kids of support is needed.
That is where our SPACE-ARFID course comes in! It’s a different kind of feeding therapy-evidence based and gets results. Here is how SPACE is different:
⭐️parent focused-it’s ok if your child does not see a need for change
⭐️kids do not attend sessions
⭐️the focus is not on exposure-it’s on supporting your kids through the uncomfortable anxiety

We have 2 options to help you using SPACE-ARFID Focus :
1. A web course led by Kelly-giving you all you need to run this program with your child at your own pace-comment “course” down below 👇 and I’ll send you the link right to your inbox!
2. Or work one on one with me! I’ll take you through all the steps during our weekly meetings. Email me at:

There is so much noise out there right now about feeding therapy, ARFID, neuro affirming care, pressure around eating, and parenting picky eaters. It’s overwhelming and exhausting.
Here are the things that I know to be true after almost 15 years in this field…and I share it with parents on the daily.
1. Parents buy in and practice is by far the biggest indicator of success
2. Kids may try a food..and even say they like it. Maintaining that food and getting into their “usual” food rotation is a whole different beast
3. Tongue tie clipping does fix all feeding disorders. It’s too widely thrown out as a cure-all and fix-all for picky eaters
4. Parent really are trying their best. They simply don’t have the right tools

That’s where we come in. We will show you exactly the steps you need to take to make real progress… it just “fluff advice” and buzz worthy words

You spend so many years worrying about your kids.
From the moment you found out you were pregnant, the worry begins.
Wondering if they’ll be okay. If the hard things will always feel this hard. If you are making the right choices on their behalf.

And then one day, you’re watching them step into a new chapter...and you realize growth was happening the whole time.

For the parents in the thick of worry right now: don’t underestimate what time, support, connection, and development can do.
What’s something your child does now that once felt impossible? I’ll go first…check out the comments below

The 3 things I do immediately if a child I’m working with gags on a new food:
1. Deep breath and stay calm. Counting to 10 almost always helps ✅
2. Make the demand/bite smaller to show we don’t need to remove the food…we can handle the discomfort. It’s the only way to work though it. I do, however, make it easier and validate that gagging is very uncomfortable I do not draw a ton of attention it though. That will make works
3. Use language that helps us cope. For example, instead of saying “oh my! You gagged! How awful…let’s not do that again” we DO try another bite, smaller in size, and talk through what we are doing-“I just ate a small bite of that cheese. I didn’t love it, and it was uncomfortable, but I’m chewing and swallowing without gagging at all”

Tell me below in the comments any questions you have about this topic. Happy to answer them in comments!

🤯🤯🤯but it isn’t the 1950’s! It isn’t “back in your day”. And that advice literally doesn’t help at all. It does nothing to solve the stress and anxiety that comes along with having a picky eater.
But there actually IS a better way! It doesn’t all have to be about “starving it out like back in the day” OR “just playing with food, reducing pressure, and hoping your child eats” which is a lot of advice from today.

There is actually a method that works to blend these two extremes. It’s called SPACE-ARFID approach and it’s a whole new way to look at picky eating and support families.

Protein has parents STRESSED right now 😩
But most 4-6 year olds only need about 19-25 grams of protein throughout the WHOLE DAY total (and younger kids often need less).

That usually looks a lot smaller than parents expect
A cup or milk
A yogurt
Some peanut butter
Chicken nuggets
A slice of pizza
It adds up very quickly
And that doesn’t mean protein isn’t important. It very much is
But social media has many parents convinced their child needs massive amounts of protein to be healthy.
And for many picky eaters, the pressure around protein can actually increase stress at meals for everyone and make overall intake much worse.

Sometimes taking a step back and looking at the full day-not just one meal-changes everything
Save this and share. You can look at it the next time you panic that your child “hasn’t eaten enough protein today”👀
