Some of the most impactful work begins with a conversation. ❤️

The Agape’s Way team had the opportunity to attend the 2026 Florida Children and Families Summit, an annual gathering of child-welfare leaders and professionals from across the state coming together to learn, collaborate and strengthen outcomes for Florida’s children and families.

We connected with incredible people who are influencing policy, improving services, advocating for families and doing meaningful work in communities throughout Florida. We shared the mission of Agape’s Way, built relationships and explored how stronger partnerships can help medically complex children receive the care and support they deserve.

The experience also gave our team time to learn together, grow together and return even more connected to our purpose.

We left inspired, encouraged and reminded that lasting impact is rarely created by one organization alone. It happens when people committed to children bring their knowledge, resources and hearts to the same table.

We’re grateful to have been in the room, and even more excited about what these new connections may make possible. ❤️

Some parts of caregiving are difficult to explain to people who haven’t lived them.

The interrupted sleep. Knowing every medication by heart. Hearing a different sound from the next room and immediately knowing something has changed. Saying “I’m fine” because explaining everything would take more energy than you have.

But another caregiver understands, sometimes without you having to explain at all. ❤️

Muscular dystrophy is often reduced to one visible symptom: difficulty with movement. But the reality is far more complex.

MD includes more than 30 genetic diseases, and depending on the type, it may also affect breathing, swallowing, speech and heart function. Symptoms, abilities and progression can look different for every personn, even among those with the same diagnosis.

And let’s retire one assumption for good: a wheelchair does not mean someone has given up. It can provide freedom, preserve energy and create greater access to everyday life.

This Muscular Dystrophy Awareness Month, we’re replacing assumptions with understanding and recognizing the whole child, not only the diagnosis.

For some families, the NICU is only the beginning of a much longer medical journey.

Years after discharge, some children may still require respiratory support, feeding tubes, tracheostomy care, medications, therapies, medical equipment and frequent specialist appointments. As their children grow, families continue learning, adjusting and advocating through every new stage.

This NICU Awareness Month, we honor the babies who began life in intensive care, the families whose strength was tested from the very beginning and the healthcare professionals who cared for them during some of their most vulnerable moments.

At Agape’s Way, we recognize that complex-care needs can continue well beyond infancy. Our pediatric program provides 24/7 skilled nursing care for medically complex children ages 3–17 in a comfortable, home-like environment.

The NICU may be where part of their story began, but families deserve support throughout the chapters that follow. ❤️

They are the reason we keep showing up, and the heart behind everything we do. ❤️

For many caregivers, asking for help is not as simple as admitting they are tired.

You have learned every medication, every piece of equipment, every appointment and every small change in your loved one’s normal. You have carried the responsibility for so long that trusting someone else with it can feel harder than continuing to carry it alone.

We understand that choosing additional care is deeply personal. It is not a decision made because you love your family member any less. Sometimes, it is made because you love them enough to recognize when their needs require more support than one person can safely provide.

At Agape’s Way, our nursing team provides around-the-clock care and clinical support for medically complex individuals in a comfortable, home-like environment. Our role is not to replace the love and knowledge of family, it is to listen, learn the details that matter and help carry the responsibility of care.
