Even with the devastating news that we received Friday about Alex cancer spreading! We are still doing everything to live life to the fullest! We went to the aquarium with Family on Saturday and went swimming at aunt Brittany’s house. And today we went to the Hidden hen for a little bit and then went swimming over at Troy’s dad’s house! I try to remember to live in the moment each day and control what I can! Alex is still in the fight! I’m thankful for that! No one knows what the future holds and I am so thankful for all the time with Alex but I’m still scared and my emotions are running high as they always do after getting devastating news but my faith is strong and I just wanted to thank everyone for reaching out and praying for our warrior and my family 🙏🙏🎗️

Well i guess it's time for the update since we've shared all the anxiety leading up to Alex's scan. Unfortunately, I am once again tasked with delivering the news that nobody really wants to hear. Alex has had a "mixed response" to these last couple of months of treatment meaning that some areas have improved or remained stable, but there are new spots.....ugh. it hurts to even type that. This means that Alex will no longer be receiving in-patient treatment because it's no longer working. We will be starting to administer daily oral chemo along with a "small molecule inhibitor" that he's been on in hopes of holding things at bay. We have sent his case information to St. Jude's, Memorial Sloan Kettering and Penn State in search of treatments and trials that may not be available or known to our home hospital.Needless to say, this has been a hard pill to swallow, but we will continue to fight by Alex's side and fight for his quality of life. We truly appreciate all the care and concern that you all have shown he and our family more than you could ever know.

Alexs Pet scan is Thursday and I’m scared! Having scanxiety if what we are doing for him is not working we don’t have any options left. Please send prayers to our family our hearts are heavy anxiously waiting to see if our little warrior is able to still fight! Over 5 years fighting but this scan feels different than all of them. ITS A HORRIBLE GUT WRENCHING FEELING to have. I just have to keep my faith and pray we have more time together. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers🙏🎗️

Just finished getting platelets.. chest xray and viral panel are negative. They gave Alex two sets of antibiotics and are sending him home. We will wait to see if anything grows on his cultures not sure what’s going on with our little warrior. Praying he doesn’t have a line infection. Praying he stays feeling better and we don’t have to come back anytime soon🙏🎗️
