• offering choices
• talking through routines

Every child communicates differently, and every attempt matters, whether it’s words, gestures, pointing, signs, or AAC. Progress doesn’t always happen overnight, but small moments add up!

Sometimes we say “It’s okay” because we want to comfort children quickly — but emotional validation is often more powerful than reassurance alone.

When we slow down, connect, and guide children through their feelings, we help them build lifelong emotional regulation skills.

Remember: validating feelings does NOT mean allowing unsafe behaviors. It means helping children understand emotions while teaching healthier ways to cope.

We don’t eliminate stimming—we understand it 💙

Stimming is a form of regulation, not something “bad” that needs to be stopped. When we try to remove it without support, we can actually increase stress and take away a child’s way of coping.

Our role is to:
✨ Keep individuals safe
✨ Teach alternative skills when needed
✨ Respect their need for regulation

Because the goal is never perfection—it’s safety, comfort, and quality of life.
