Your Hormone Health Is Part of Your Whole Health

Hormones can influence energy, metabolism, sleep, mood, sexual health and body composition — and those changes can affect how you feel from day to day.

At Family Integrative Medicine, we take a more comprehensive view. By looking at your symptoms, health history, lifestyle and appropriate testing together, we can better understand the bigger picture and personalize your care.

Because hormone health isn’t about chasing a number. It’s about understanding you. 💙

Sometimes the first step toward feeling better is finally feeling heard. 💙

“For the first time, I felt like I was being seen as a whole person rather than a collection of unrelated symptoms.”

That idea matters in integrative medicine. Sleep, stress, metabolic health, nutrition and other aspects of health affect one another—one reason a comprehensive evaluation looks beyond a single symptom.

And sometimes, simply having hope can mean everything.

Thank you, Anmy, for sharing your story with us. 💚

Knee pain can affect more than your knees. It can change how you train, travel, spend time with family, or move through your day with confidence.

Possible contributors include irritation around the kneecap, tendon problems, osteoarthritis, a past injury, overuse, or changes in strength and movement. Stairs may simply make the discomfort more noticeable.

At Family Integrative Medicine, we listen to how your symptoms affect your life and assess movement, strength, stability, and range of motion. Depending on your evaluation, care may include rehabilitation, platelet-rich plasma (PRP), stem cell or peptide therapy, medical acupuncture, or other regenerative options when clinically appropriate.

When you review your lab results, do you know which numbers deserve a conversation?

For metabolic health, total cholesterol is only part of the picture. HDL cholesterol and triglycerides, considered alongside blood sugar, blood pressure, and waist circumference, help clinicians assess risk. Your history and daily routines add essential context.

One practical habit worth discussing: breaking up long stretches of sitting. Short-term human studies found that brief walking breaks reduced blood sugar responses after meals compared with uninterrupted sitting. These findings support adding movement throughout the day alongside regular exercise.

At Family Integrative Medicine in Central Florida, functional medicine begins with listening to your concerns and understanding your goals. An individualized evaluation can help determine which testing is appropriate and how personalized nutrition and lifestyle guidance fit into your care.

Bring your recent lab results and questions to the conversation. Together, we can discuss what needs attention and develop a personalized plan with clear next steps.

You have plans worth staying well for.

Traveling somewhere new. Keeping up with an active family. Continuing the routines that make you feel like yourself. Thoughtful nutrition is one part of caring for that future.

A few details can make your daily routine more intentional:

• Support your strength. Adequate protein and regular resistance exercise work together to support muscle health. Including eggs, plain Greek yogurt or tofu at breakfast is one practical way to help meet your daily protein needs.

• Pay attention to absorption. Vitamin D is fat-soluble. If your provider recommends a supplement, taking it with a meal containing some fat helps absorption. Your dose should reflect your individual needs.

• Review what you already take. Bring your supplement list to your next appointment so your provider can review its purpose, doses and possible medication interactions.

At Family Integrative Medicine, we bring these everyday details into a personalized functional medicine plan. Nutrition guidance, appropriate lab testing and hormone evaluation when indicated begin with understanding your history—and what matters to you.

You deserve to feel heard, understand your options and have a clear next step.

One day, he may not remember what he caught. He’ll remember who taught him.

A Sunday by the water is a reminder of why staying active matters: the traditions we share, the adventures we say yes to, and the people we enjoy them with.

Caring for mobility begins with noticing small changes—cutting a walk short, avoiding a favorite activity, or taking longer to recover. Those details are worth discussing during an evaluation, even when discomfort feels manageable.

At Family Integrative Medicine, our approach to orthopedic care includes understanding your joint health from a holistic approach, discussing appropriate regenerative medicine options, and building a personalized plan around your goals.

Restorative sleep is about more than the number of hours you spend in bed. It’s about the quality and rhythm of your sleep. 🌙

Throughout the night, the body cycles through NREM and REM sleep, each playing an important role in physical recovery, memory, emotional well-being, and healthy brain function. Healthy sleep also supports cellular repair, immune function, glucose regulation, appetite signaling, and cardiovascular health.

Your circadian rhythm helps determine when your body is naturally prepared to sleep and wake. Consistent sleep and wake times, regular daytime light exposure, and daily physical activity can help reinforce that internal clock.

Evening habits matter, too. Limiting late caffeine, bright screens, heavy meals, and unnecessary stimulation — while keeping the bedroom cool, dark, and quiet — can create better conditions for restorative sleep. Managing stress before bedtime can also help the mind and body transition more easily into rest.

Better sleep supports better recovery, clearer thinking, steadier energy, and healthier aging.

Small improvements in how you sleep can make a meaningful difference in how you feel during the day.
