The Rescue Company 1 we provide critical transport education for flight and ground crews, and rescue classes.

The Rescue Company 1 was founded by Carlos Tavarez who was the first Firefighter / Paramedic on scene the night of the Pulse Nightclub shooting in 2016. Carlos had one mission; to train rescue & EMS professionals how to provide excellent treatment and care in difficult situations. At The Rescue Company 1, you will train with the best, so you’re prepared for the worst and "that others may live". Ou

r instructors have multi-years of experience and are all currently active in their field so they can provide you with recent, realistic, and relevant training and an expert education in emergency medicine, flight medicine, emergency rescues, and critical care transports. We pride ourselves in specialized, intensive, and realistic training that goes far beyond a classroom or what you learn online. Classes are open to all EMS and rescue personnel, physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, and anyone who is looking to advance their knowledge, skill sets, and take their training to the next level. Huge shoutout to First Coast Technical College and their incredible EMT students! 🙌 We had a packed house for the exam review, and the energy in the room was unmatched.

Ten years ago at this today, our own Carlos Tavarez was with his Orlando Fire Department partner, Josh Granada offloading a patient at Orlando Regional Medical Center when Carlos heard there was a shooting down the street at Pulse Orlando. The partners raced to the scene and ended up being the first paramedic unit to arrive and immediately started treating and transporting victims. Although the partners had mass shooter training, nothing could have prepared them for what would transpire over the next several hours or what that experience would leave them with over the next several years. Forty-nine innocent people lost their lives that night, over 53 other patrons were wounded, and numerous EMS and law enforcement professionals would be changed forever. We will never forget June 12th or those that were lost over ignorance and hate. Because this tragedy was also the catapult for starting The Rescue Company 1 we continue to strive to be the best in all of their honor and to help train other EMS professionals become their best so that others may live and hate will not win.
