This guy and I are celebrating 15 years together, and what an incredible adventure it has been. I am grateful every day for this beautiful life we have cocreated together, and cannot imagine a more perfect partner. We “think outside the box” well together. I love his passion, creativity, kindness, sense of humor, affection, intelligence, loyalty, and openness.

God-willing we will get to continue exploring, creating, enjoying and loving life together for decades to come.

Feeling so, so grateful.

Join us on our Holland & Belgium Cruise next September.

If you’ve been dreaming about a European river cruise, this is the time to make it happen.

Because AmaWaterways is celebrating its 25th anniversary and America is celebrating its 250th birthday, they’re offering an incredible promotion that expires July 31.

When you reserve your Best of Holland & Belgium cruise through me by tomorrow, you’ll receive:
💙 $500 off per person
💙 An additional $250 off per person when you join my group
💙 A complimentary stateroom upgrade
💙 $125 onboard credit per person
💙 Reduced deposit of just $250 per person (normally $400)
💙 Prepaid gratuities on all balcony staterooms

We’ll be sailing through the breathtaking waterways of Holland and Belgium, exploring Amsterdam, storybook villages, historic ports, the famous windmills of Kinderdijk, and some of Europe’s most beautiful countryside.

One day you might be bicycling beside peaceful canals through the Dutch countryside. The next, you could be wandering medieval squares in Belgium, tasting handcrafted chocolates, enjoying fresh waffles, touring centuries-old castles, or sampling world-famous Belgian beers.

Back onboard, you’ll enjoy exceptional service, outstanding cuisine, unlimited beer and wine with lunch and dinner, and the comfort of your floating boutique hotel.

River cruising is one of our favorite ways to experience Europe. You unpack once, relax, and wake up in a new destination every morning—without changing hotels, hauling luggage, or worrying about transportation.

We’ll still have our group rates after August 1, but these incredible savings and bonus offers disappear after July 31.

If Holland and Belgium have been on your travel wish list, we’d love for you to join us on this unforgettable journey!

📩 Send me a message today for details before this amazing offer sails away!

I was really happy to see this Native Florida pollinator plant, the Firebush, being used very intentionally throughout the parking lot of a shopping center. These Native Florida Plants thrive in this environment, and they support pollinators and therefore the entire ecosystem. Imagine if this was being done everywhere, eliminating the need for sprinklers and wasting water, and actually supporting life. This would be such a simple but powerfully effective shift.

And it’s easy to propagate, so one plant could yield many.

Even if we can’t get our local municipalities to fully embrace this, we can certainly do it in our own yards.

Other easy no-brainers are blue Porterweed, Beach Sunflower, Sunshine Mimosa, Coral Honeysuckle, Black-eyed Susan, American Beautyberry, Tropical Sage…

Do yourself a favor and make a trip out to Green Isle nursery in Groveland. They’ll hook you up.

We have spent hours, days, weeks cultivating our backyard sanctuary into a pollinator friendly oasis, and it has really paid off. You have to work hard not to see a pollinator (bees, butterflies, birds, and more) at any given moment… they love it here.

This Eastern Tiger Swallowtail butterfly has been hanging out quite a bit, and I swear it’s the size of a bird. They can get up to 6.6”, over half a foot, so they really are the size of a bird. And so, so beautiful.

In addition to Passionfruit vines, which they clearly love, we have native milkweeds, Porterweed, Pentas, Firebush, Coral Honeysuckle, Wild Coffee, Beauty berry, Perennial Peanut, Blanket Flower, Blue Butterfly, Sunshine Mimosa, and so much more.

All this work with our hands in the soil and our heads and hearts in the garden has been incredibly medicinal, healing, grounding, all the good things.

I can’t think of anything else worthy of our free time and energy then creating a safe little sanctuary for ourselves in our own backyard.

I am so grateful. ❤️🪻🌱 🦋🦜🐝

🦍✨ More Than a Trek—A Lifeline for Gorillas ✨🦍

Standing face-to-face with a mountain gorilla in the misty forests of Uganda is an unforgettable experience. But a gorilla trek is about so much more than witnessing wildlife—it’s about helping protect it.

Every trek contributes to conservation efforts that safeguard gorillas, preserve their forest habitat, support anti-poaching initiatives, and create sustainable opportunities for local communities. By choosing responsible tourism, visitors help ensure that these incredible animals continue to thrive in the wild for generations to come.

The forests that shelter gorillas are worth more standing than cleared. The communities living alongside them benefit from protecting them. And every person who experiences these gentle giants leaves with a deeper appreciation for the importance of conservation.

Travel can be more than a journey. It can be a force for protection, hope, and positive change.

🌿 Protect habitats.
🦍 Support conservation.
💚 Be part of their story.

Thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday yesterday! 💛
It was such a beautiful day, and I’m feeling so blessed and grateful.

Just days ago, we returned from an incredible adventure in French Polynesia — exploring Tahiti, Moorea, Raiatea, Tahaa, Bora Bora, and Huahine.

We swam with humpback whales in Moorea and later snorkeled with blacktip sharks and stingrays in Bora Bora. We snorkeled often, feasted on fresh fish (especially my favorite, Poisson Cru — raw tuna marinated in coconut milk and lime juice), and soaked in the mana of the islands.

While there, Brian and I took another step toward a longtime dream — we signed up for international sailing training! Once we’re certified and have some experience under our belts, we’ll be able to charter sailboats around the world — from Thailand and Greece to Croatia, the Seychelles, Belize, and beyond.

Now we just need more time on the water (anyone need sailing buddies?). ⛵

Who knows what the future holds — but it never hurts to dream big! 🌴✨

The ship for our Douro Valley River cruise next October (2026) has been sold out, but I just discovered that two staterooms have opened up! This particular river, which will take us through Portugal and into Spain, is a favorite amongst river cruisers, which is why it sells out so far in advance. If you’ve ever wanted to experience a river cruise or have considered joining us on one of ours, this is a good time to do so. DM me for details.
