June is Men's Health Month! Men often push through discomfort or put their health on the back burner. This month is a reminder that taking care of yourself matters.

A few simple check‑ins can make a difference:
• Schedule regular check‑ups and preventive screenings
• Pay attention to changes in energy, sleep, or breathing
• Make time for movement, rest, and stress management
• Talk to a healthcare provider if something doesn’t feel right

Your health supports everything else you show up for. Taking that first step is important.

Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is more common than many realize and often misunderstood.

During HS Awareness Week, it is important to recognize that people living with HS may experience recurring, painful lumps or open wounds that can be difficult to manage and slow to heal.

Because symptoms can look like other skin conditions, diagnosis is often delayed, sometimes by several years.

Early recognition and the right care approach can make a meaningful difference. Support may include managing active wounds, protecting surrounding skin, and helping individuals stay more comfortable day to day.

Common signs to be aware of:
• Recurrent painful bumps or abscesses
• Areas that drain or do not fully heal
• Symptoms in areas like the underarms, groin, or under the breasts

If something does not seem right, it is important to speak with a healthcare provider.

Awareness is a powerful first step toward better care and support.

Wound healing is not always a quick or straightforward process, and for many, it starts at home. 🩹

June is Wound Healing Awareness Month, a reminder that small, everyday habits can play an important role in supporting healing. Keeping a wound clean, staying consistent with care, and supporting the body with proper nutrition and hydration can all make a difference over time.

Healing looks different for everyone. With patience, awareness, and the right support, the process can feel more manageable day by day.

Ventilator alarms can feel overwhelming, especially when they happen unexpectedly. But alarms are there to help keep your loved one safe — not to alarm you.

Understanding what different alarms mean and knowing a few simple checks can help caregivers feel more confident and prepared. And when something doesn’t feel right, reaching out for support is always the right step.

You’re not expected to handle everything alone. We’re here to help guide you through the moments that matter most.

Caring for someone with COPD, or living with it yourself, comes with real ups and downs. Being seen, heard, and supported can make all the difference.

We’re grateful for the trust our patients place in us and honored to walk alongside them through the challenges and the brighter days. Stories like this remind us why compassion and connection matter just as much as care.

Sleep apnea doesn’t always look the same in women. In fact, it is often missed or misdiagnosed because symptoms can be different than the ones most people recognize.

Women may experience:
• Trouble falling or staying asleep
• Ongoing fatigue or exhaustion
• Insomnia
• Anxiety or depression
• Irritability or mood changes
• Difficulty focusing
• Restless legs

If these sound familiar, it may be worth talking with your healthcare provider. Better sleep can have a meaningful impact on daily life, energy levels, and overall health.

🤧 Spring is a beautiful time of year, but pollen, dust, and other irritants can make breathing harder for people with asthma and allergies. A few small steps can help reduce triggers and keep symptoms more manageable.

Helpful reminders for spring:
🌸 Check daily pollen levels and plan outdoor time when counts are lower.
🪟 Keep windows and doors closed during high‑pollen days.
🚿 Shower and change clothes after being outside to remove pollen.
🌬️ Use air conditioning or air purifiers to help improve indoor air quality.
🧼 Clean regularly by washing bedding, vacuuming, and dusting to reduce allergens.
😷 Wear a mask during yard work or outdoor chores if pollen bothers you.

Feeling short of breath with COPD can be unsettling, but you’re not powerless in the moment.

Try slowing things down. Breathe in through your nose, then gently breathe out through pursed lips, like you’re blowing out a candle. This can help your breathing feel more controlled.

Changing your position can also help. Sitting or leaning slightly forward often makes breathing feel a little easier.

Most importantly, give yourself permission to pause. Stop what you’re doing, sit or rest, and let your breathing settle before trying to move again.

Everyone’s body is different, so find what works best for you. And if shortness of breath feels severe or doesn’t improve, it’s always okay to reach out to your healthcare team.
