I wish we had a video of this one!!! Teddy is 6 days old. I wouldn’t say he was “fussy” but when his Atlas (first bone in his neck) was set into alignment, the whole room shifted!!! His energy changed noticeably in that instant!! He SMILED and relaxed!!

What a lot of people don’t understand is that this is where the brain stem is located. It is also where the cranial nerves exit. Ever hear of the VAGUS NERVE? l challenge you to look up all the areas the vagus nerve affects!

When this area is misaligned, babies (and adults) have trouble regulating their breath, they’re more likely to be anxious and their digestive system is affected.

When I get a patient for constipation, this is where I look. Colic? here as well!!

Teddy was also having trouble latching on his mamas left breast. His right TMJ needed aligning. There is a little disc at the TMJ that frequently gets out of place during birth (or their position during pregnancy). I aligned his right TMJ and when I asked which side she had trouble nursing on, it correlated with my findings..

Mamma nursed her baby in our nursing/play room after the adjustment - one of my favorite things about both offices is that I have a space dedicated for nursing mammas and kids to play!
She remarked that it was a noticeable difference and was measurably more comfortable!!!

There are some calls that never get old. ❤️

Today, one of my moms called because she’s in early labor. Contractions have started, but they aren’t consistent yet, so she came in for a Webster Technique adjustment.

The goal of the Webster Technique isn’t to “induce” labor. Instead, it helps optimize the biomechanics of the pelvis and surrounding soft tissues, creating more balance and allowing baby the best opportunity to move into an ideal position for birth. When baby can engage more effectively in the pelvis, labor often progresses more efficiently because the body is able to do what it was designed to do.

But this visit meant even more to me for another reason.

This is her third baby under my care, and she’s one of my treasured four-generation chiropractic families. I’ve had the privilege of caring for her grandparents, her parents, her siblings, her husband, and now all of their babies.

In fact, I was her chiropractor before she was even 10 years old.

To be trusted through childhood, adulthood, marriage, and now motherhood is something I never take for granted. Walking alongside families through some of life’s biggest milestones is one of the greatest honors of my career.

Thank you for allowing me to be a small part of your family’s story for all these years. Your trust means more than words can express.

Eliana came in at 6.5 weeks old with torticollis. She couldn’t turn her head to the left. It was affecting her latch so much that her mom had to stop nursing and switch to pumping (because she couldn’t turn her head to nurse properly). After ONE adjustment, she’s turning her head to both sides and her mom is able to nurse her again!

I asked dad to describe the adjustment because many parents are nervous about the amount of force administered. He said “it’s like a simple stretch”. It’s a gentle motion and the baby was so relaxed she slept right through it. A very specific adjustment was used to align the top vertebra in her neck to allow the nervous system to function optimally!

This part of the nervous system affects digestion, heart rate, breath rate, immune function, etc.. it controls the area of the nervous system responsible for calming us down.

The top bone also sits between the Eustachian tubes so if it’s misaligned, the ear won’t drain and chronic ear infections can occur.

I love, love, love, LOOOOOOOOOOVE it when a baby hasn't had a bowel movement for 8-12 days and their pediatrician says there's no research that supports that chiropractic care can help; but the mama brings her baby to me anyway and after an adjustment that baby has TWO bowel movements THE SAME DAY and multiple bowel movements for the remainder of the weekend... FYI there's 100 years of testimonials from families who have been under chiropractic care who report benefits in every bodily function and in every area of health.

Today I had one of those moments that reminds you why you do what you do.

I was checking in for an appointment when the woman at the front desk looked at me and said, “You’re the lady who does the mother-daughter tea parties, aren’t you?”

When I said yes, she came over and thanked me. She told me she attended one of the tea parties with her daughter two years ago. Recently, her daughter got her first period, and because of what they learned together, she wasn’t scared; she was prepared… and even excited!!!

I can’t tell you how much that meant to hear.

That is EXACTLY why I created Dr. Cynthia's Mother Daughter Tea Party.

Of course I want girls to understand what to expect with their menstrual cycle: what happens, how to prepare a period kit for their backpack, what to do when it starts, and how to take away the fear of the unknown. But this event has always been about SO-MUCH-MORE than biology.

My goal has always been to celebrate the incredible way God designed the female body and to help girls see this new season of life as something to embrace rather than dread.

Just as importantly, the tea party is designed to strengthen the relationship between mothers and daughters. Throughout the event, there are activities and conversations that encourage communication, trust, and connection before puberty even begins. Rather than replacing a mother’s role, I hope to support it. I send each mother and daughter home with ideas and a “homework assignment” to choose together the products and approach that feel right for their family.

Today’s conversation reminded me why this has always been such a passion project.

The only reason I haven’t hosted a tea party in the past two years is because I’ve lost my venue. I’m hoping to find a space that will allow me to keep the event affordable for families.

So I’m asking for your help. If you know of a church, community center, event space, tearoom, or other venue that might be willing to host a Mother-Daughter Tea Party at a reasonable cost, I’d be so grateful if you would send me their contact information or tag them below.

I’d love to bring this special event back and help more mothers and daughters create memories—and confidence—that last a lifetime. 💕

Charlotte is 2 years old. She was having one bowel movement every 3 to 4 days. The same day she got her first adjustment, she started to have multiple bowel movements a day. It’s been a month since that first adjustment. Today she had gone three days without a bowel movement so her mom brought her in. She just text me that she had a bowel movement immediately after her adjustment!

ALL KIDS COUNT AS ONE VISIT, so her baby sister’s adjustment is included. Baby Georgia is 6 months old. Her nervous system controls everything just like everyone else. Getting adjusted is ensuring that she has optimum function for improved EVERYTHING!
