As lessons usually do, this theme has shown up a lot for me this past week; it feels like everywhere I turn, I am being asked to examine the relationship between “head” (mind) and “heart”.
This is such a difficult lesson to grasp, and it’s maybe one of the biggest human conundrums we have to process, especially as we live in an era that is extremely mind-centered.
What I’ve had to learn over time is that allowing the mind to drive creates a false sense of comfort and safety; we feel we are in control when in fact, we are *being* controlled by the byproducts of the mind, most of which are fear-based. In this way, the mind shrinks us, and holds us back from experiencing and discovering the FULLNESS of life and all of its many ups, downs, and secret enclaves.
When we learn to let the heart steer the ship, however, we open ourselves to unlimited potential, expansion, love, and endless experiences on this path of life.
Because the heart is unafraid. And the heart is certain.
While the mind waffles and fluctuates based on fear, the heart is calm, confident, and always knows the way back home. 🧭
Reflect // in what areas could you allow your heart to lead instead of your head? 💙
