🌿 Foods that may help with menopause symptoms
Food can't stop menopause, but a nutrient-rich diet can help with hot flashes, bone health, heart health, energy, and maintaining a healthy weight.
1. Soy foods
• Tofu
• Tempeh
• Edamame
• Unsweetened soy milk
Soy contains isoflavones, which have estrogen-like activity. Some women find they help with hot flashes, although the evidence is mixed.
2. Ground flaxseed
• Add 1–2 tablespoons to oatmeal, smoothies, or yogurt.
• Provides fiber and plant compounds called lignans.
3. Calcium-rich foods
Important because declining estrogen increases bone loss:
• Sardines or canned salmon with bones
• Fortified plant milk
• Calcium-set tofu
• Leafy greens
• Greek yogurt, if you tolerate dairy
4. Omega-3-rich foods
• Salmon
• Sardines
• Trout
• Chia seeds
• Flaxseed
• Walnuts
5. Fruits and vegetables
Aim for a variety of colorful produce, especially:
• Berries
• Citrus
• Broccoli
• Spinach
• Sweet potatoes
• Peppers
6. Whole grains and beans
• Oatmeal
• Quinoa
• Brown rice
• Lentils
• Chickpeas
• Black beans
These provide fiber and can help with cardiovascular health and blood sugar control.
