Be honest. How many of these describe your practice right now?

Most healthcare owners assume the problem is production. See more patients. Add more services. Grow faster.

But if your overhead is above 25%, growth is actually making things worse.

You're feeding the leak — not fixing it.

Revenue is not the problem.
Guessing is.

If you don't know exactly where your money is leaking — you'll keep working harder and wondering why the paycheck doesn't move.

Save this. Share it with the business owner who needs it.

Be honest — does this list describe you?

Most business owners don't have an income problem.
They have an allocation problem.

$1 million in. $100K out. That was a real client of mine.
We fixed it without her making a single dollar more.

In the world of healthcare, leadership is a heavy lift. Your facility is finally seeing black on the balance sheet, yet as CEO, your personal payout remains the lowest priority.

You ensure the nursing staff is compensated, the life-saving tech is upgraded, and the patient care standards are met before even glancing at your own draw. It’s a relentless cycle of mission over margin. While it feels draining to be the last one paid, you aren't just managing a payroll—you’re sustaining a vital community pillar. True leadership is found in that sacrifice. Stay focused on the outcomes; the equity follows the impact.

Let’s be honest…

You’re making money.

But you’re still underpaid.
You’re carrying the pressure.
You’re making the decisions.
You’re holding everything together.

But your bank account doesn’t reflect it.

That’s not a revenue problem.
It’s a structure problem.

I talk about this in Episode 14:
“You’re Making Money… So Why Are You Still Underpaid?”

👉 Have you ever felt like your business is growing… but YOU aren’t?

More revenue does not fix a more‑owner‑pay problem.

Healthcare CEOs must confront the real issue: misaligned incentives that reward extraction over reinvestment. Growth without discipline only magnifies structural weaknesses.

When compensation rises faster than operational performance, culture erodes, teams disengage, and long‑term value suffers.

Sustainable success comes from tightening financial stewardship, improving productivity, and reinvesting in people, technology, and patient outcomes. Revenue is a tool, not a cure.

Leadership is choosing accountability over comfort and strategy over shortcuts. The organizations that thrive are the ones where owners earn more because

Your business is making money…

but you’re still underpaid.

This is more common than you think — and it’s not a revenue issue.

It’s a structure issue.

In this episode, I break down the hidden leaks that keep CEOs overworked and underpaid.

I used to wonder why I felt so drained at the end of every week. Then it hit me: every major decision in my business depended on me.

Every bottleneck, every approval, every fire—ran straight through my desk. And that level of dependency isn’t leadership. It’s a liability.

Healthcare CEOs, if you’re feeling that same exhaustion, it’s not because you’re weak. It’s because your system is built around you instead of beyond you.

Your organization can’t scale if you’re the only one holding the weight. Build decision pathways, empower your leaders, and protect your energy like an asset.

At some point, many of us learned this without even realizing it:

“I go last.”

We take care of the patients.
We take care of the team.
We take care of everything.
And we call that leadership.

But what if that belief is the very thing keeping you:
exhausted
overwhelmed
and underpaid

I’ve lived this.

My practice looked successful on the outside…
but behind the scenes, the numbers told a different story.

That’s when I realized:
Being busy isn’t the goal.
Being paid and supported by your business is.

I talk about this in Episode 13:

“Why Your Business Makes Money—But You Don’t”

If this resonates, I’d love to hear:

👉 Have you ever felt like you were doing everything… but still not getting the reward?

I start with just 1%—a small but intentional transfer into my Owner Allocation Account.

That first step may seem minor, but it sets the tone for discipline and clarity in how I manage my finances. Each percentage I allocate reminds me that ownership is about stewardship, not just profit.

As I gradually increase contributions, I see how these allocations strengthen accountability, align my goals with financial health, and build confidence for future growth.

From that initial 1%, I create a habit that transforms into stability, sustainability, and a clear path toward expansion. Every percent truly matters.
