I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with 11+ years of experience providing therapy across clinic, community, and virtual settings. My approach blends clinical excellence with empathy, supporting individuals through life transitions, crises of faith, and the impact of discrimination.

Burnout didn’t tap me on the shoulder, it hit my whole body. Chronic irritability. Constant fatigue. Apathy toward work I used to love. Migraines. Eyebrow twitching. Depression. Hopelessness. My nervous system was waving red flags long before I admitted something was wrong.

Everything shifted when I left a job that was draining me and created new rhythms that gave me margin — real space to breathe, rest, and exist without being in survival mode.

I don’t just teach burnout recovery as a licensed therapist. I teach it as a woman who lived it in her body.
Who felt it in her spirit. Who had to rebuild her life from the inside out.

If your body is telling the truth, listen. Burnout isn’t weakness — it’s a warning. And you deserve a life that doesn’t require you to break down to be heard. If you’re ready to get started on your recovery, check the link in my bio.

Burnout isn’t about you “not being strong enough.” It’s a sign the world keeps asking you to carry more than any one woman should — especially Black women, moms, caregivers, and high achievers who feel guilty for slowing down.

You can’t self‑care your way out of burnout.
You can’t grind through it. You can’t fix it with a weekend off. Burnout needs a shift in the system around you.

When you stop being the automatic strong one, your nervous system finally gets room to breathe. And when you’re calmer, you’re not perfect — you’re present, connected, and more like yourself again. If you need support making that shift, therapy can help you start.

A lot of us Black women think we’re “just stressed,” when we’re actually burned out — mentally, emotionally, and physically. And no amount of bubble baths, candles, or quick weekends away can fix burnout.

Stress responds to rest. Burnout responds to boundaries, support, and changing the load you’ve been carrying.

If you’re a high achiever, a caregiver, or the one everyone depends on, burnout often shows up as guilt for slowing down, shame for needing help, and pressure to keep pushing through it.

But burnout isn’t a failure — it’s a signal. A sign that you’ve been doing too much, for too long, with too little support. You deserve rest that restores you. You deserve a life that doesn’t require you to break down to be heard. Burnout needs change, not just self‑care. And you’re allowed to choose yourself.

Friendship gives you love, support, and someone who gets your personality… and that’s beautiful. But therapy gives you something completely different. A therapist listens to understand, clarify, and help you move forward. They stay unbiased, they don’t judge, and they don’t throw your vulnerability back at you later.

Your friend might hype you up. But your therapist helps you grow. Both relationships matter, but only one is designed to help you heal, shift patterns, and change your life. If you’re ready for clarity, tools, and real transformation, therapy can offer what friendship simply isn’t built to do.

Finding a good therapist isn’t just about someone who understands your story — it’s about someone who can help you rewrite it. A good therapist will challenge you, invite you to be open, and guide you through both unlearning and learning. Want to learn more? Links in bio.

Therapy hits different when your therapist understands the layers of being a Black woman in America.
