What a wonderful first week it has been at The Ironwood at Oro Valley!

Fall is in the air, and our September calendar is packed with meaningful experiences, social gatherings, wellness opportunities, and exciting entertainment for our residents!

This month, we're celebrating with special events including our festive Labor Day Luau, Grandparents Day Party and Assisted Living Spirit Week, featuring everything from Crazy Hair Day to Decades and Pajama Day!

Our Blossoms & Brushes event was a huge success! 🌵🎨
Residents from both homes painted beautiful flower pots and planted them with gorgeous succulents from Green Things.
Many proudly took their creations home, while others generously donated theirs to neighbors.
These colorful creations have since been sprinkled throughout the community, bringing smiles and a little extra joy wherever they appear. 🪴👩‍🎨💚

What a fun afternoon we had with our friends Leigh and Becky from Dependable Health Services as they hosted a Penny Auction for our residents!

Each resident received a bag of 50 pennies to use as bidding tokens for a variety of exciting auction items. From friendly competition to great conversations, the room was filled with laughter, smiles, and community spirit.
Of course, no event is complete without delicious snacks, and everyone enjoyed spending time with neighbors while trying their luck at winning some fantastic prizes. Thank you, Leigh and Becky, for helping create such a memorable experience for our residents!

Our residents enjoyed a sweet outing to PeachWave Frozen Yogurt this week! 🍦✨ Frozen yogurt is a fun treat that can offer benefits like fewer calories and less fat than traditional ice cream, plus it often contains probiotics that support digestive health. Most importantly, it was a wonderful opportunity to get out, socialize, and enjoy time together in the community!

A huge thank you to Green Things for helping make our Blossoms & Brushes workshop possible!

As I searched for the perfect succulents for our residents to plant, I visited Green Things for the first time and was blown away by the size of the nursery and the incredible selection of plants. Everywhere I turned, there was something beautiful to discover.
What stood out most was the excellent customer service. The staff were welcoming, knowledgeable, and eager to help me find exactly what I needed. Their support made planning this activity a joy, and I left with everything on my list, plus a few extra treasures.

We truly appreciate Green Things for helping us create a meaningful and engaging experience for our seniors. Thank you for your wonderful service and for sharing your passion for all things green with our community! 🌿❤️

A resident favorite returned to The Ironwood after a number of years, and led them in an instructional painting workshop 🎨🖼️

Thank you to the lovely and talented Norma for returning with a bang! Residents raved about her instruction and had the best time creating their own masterpieces 👩‍🎨 would have been proud! We can’t wait to see her in September 🍁🍂
