Shame is a liar.

It says you're too far gone. That your mistakes ARE you. That you're beyond repair.

But that is NOT the truth.

The truth? Jesus died for every single mistake you have ever made. ALL of us fall short — that's the whole point. None of us could have had good enough behavior to get ourselves to heaven.

We hear a lot of "buzz words & phrases" in addiction recovery. Shame being a part of addiction is one of those things that you hear ABOUT but not exactly the how and why it relates! I am filling a group now for Breaking Free from Shame for Christian Men who are sober and recovery is stable but they need to piece together the relationship between Chronic Sin/Addiction and Shame.
