๐ŸŒŸ Nex-Gen Intern Spotlight: Lexi Goheen ๐ŸŒŸ

This summer, Lexi Goheen has been exploring all that healthcare has to offer as a Nex-Gen Summer Intern at Osborne County Memorial Hospital.

Rather than working in just one area, Lexi has had the opportunity to rotate through multiple departments, learning about the important role each plays in providing exceptional patient care.

"My favorite part of the internship has been meeting new people and learning new things," Lexi shared.

One of the biggest surprises? "How much I have liked all the different departments."

We're grateful to have Lexi as part of our team this summer and are proud to help students explore rewarding careers in healthcare.

๐Ÿ’™ Thank you, Lexi, for your enthusiasm, curiosity, and willingness to learn. We can't wait to see where your journey takes you!

๐Ÿ’™ Welcome to the OCMH Team, Stacey!

Please join us in welcoming Stacey Hoskins to the Osborne County Memorial Hospital Business Office, where she will be serving patients in Registration!

Originally from Minnesota, Stacey made Kansas her home in 2006 and now lives in Kensington. She's the proud mom of five children, ranging in age from 14 to 32, and stays busy keeping up with family life.

When she's not at work, Stacey enjoys spending time at the lake, floating the river, and cheering on her favorite NFL teamโ€”the Minnesota Vikings. (Sorry, Chiefs fans! ๐Ÿ˜‰)

We're excited to have Stacey as part of the OCMH family and know she'll provide a warm welcome to everyone who walks through our doors.

๐ŸšŒ๐ŸŒŸ Nex-Gen Summer Interns Explore Innovation in Logan ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸšŒ

Learning doesn't just happen inside the hospital!

Last week, OCMH's Nex-Gen Summer Interns traveled to Logan, Kansas, for a day of exploration and inspiration.

Their first stop was Logan Manor, where they experienced an innovative campus that brings together a nursing home, elementary school, junior high, high school, and shared community spaces. The interns saw firsthand how daily interactions between residents and students foster meaningful friendships across generations, while thoughtfully designed featuresโ€”including a therapeutic outdoor space and easy access to school activities and sporting eventsโ€”help residents stay active and connected to the community.

The group also visited the Dane G. Hansen Memorial Museum, where they explored an exciting international traveling exhibit from Australia focused on the theme of travel. Interactive displays, including a giant globe, flight simulator, virtual cycling experiences, and other hands-on activities, made the museum a memorable and inspiring stop.

Experiences like these help our interns discover new ideas, explore career opportunities, and see the many ways healthcare and communities can work together to improve quality of life.

๐Ÿฅ New and Familiar Faces at OCMH This Summer! ๐ŸŒž

Summer is a busy time at Osborne County Memorial Hospital, and we're excited to welcome both returning and new team members who are helping care for our patients and support our staff.

๐Ÿ‘‹ Meet Jackson Hardy

Jackson is a 2025 Lakeside High School graduate and will be a sophomore this fall at Kansas State University, where he is majoring in Athletic Training and Rehabilitation Science. This summer, Jackson is assisting with IT Support, helping keep our technology running smoothly. In his free time, he enjoys golfing and spending time with family and friends.

๐Ÿ‘‹ Welcome Back, MaKayla Murphy!

MaKayla is a familiar face at OCMH, having served as a Nex-Gen Summer Intern in our Physical Therapy Department in 2025. This summer, she's working as a Hospital Aide, gaining even more hands-on healthcare experience.

MaKayla recently completed her first year at Cloud County Community College, where she is majoring in Pre-Medicine and plans to graduate with her associate degree in Spring 2027. While she's still exploring which area of medicine she'd like to pursue, she's excited to continue her journey in healthcare.

Originally from Waldo, MaKayla enjoys baking, spending time with her two dogs, and hanging out with friends when she's away from work.

We're grateful to have Jackson and MaKayla as part of the OCMH team this summer and wish them continued success as they pursue their healthcare careers!

๐ŸŒŸ Nex-Gen Intern Spotlight: Brooke Befort ๐ŸŒŸ

If Brooke Befort looks familiar, that's because she's a returning Nex-Gen intern at Osborne County Memorial Hospital! We're excited to have Brooke back this summer as she continues gaining valuable experience in healthcare.

Brooke's time is focused in OCMH's Physical Therapy Department, where she's enjoyed learning alongside our therapy team and building meaningful connections with patients.

"My favorite part has been getting to work with the staff in the physical therapy department and learning from them. It has also been fun to make personal connections with patients."

Brooke is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Health and Human Performance with a concentration in Sports and Exercise Therapy and a minor in Psychology at Fort Hays State University. She plans to apply to Doctor of Physical Therapy programs this summer and hopes to begin PT school in June 2027.

We're proud to be part of Brooke's journey and grateful she's chosen to spend another summer learning with the OCMH team. We can't wait to see all she accomplishes in the years ahead!

๐Ÿ’™ Thank you, Brooke, for your dedication to serving our patients and community!
