πŸ’» You don't need a standing desk or an ergonomic overhaul. Start here:

1. Raise your screen to eye level.
If you're looking down at your laptop all day, your head is drifting forward. Every inch forward adds significant load to your neck and upper spine. Stack some books under your laptop if you need to.

2. Sit back in your chair.
Your lower back should be supported β€” not hovering. Use a rolled towel or small pillow behind your lumbar spine if your chair doesn't do the job.

3. Set a movement alarm.
Every 45–60 minutes, stand up, walk around, and reset your posture. Your spine was not designed to hold one position for hours. Movement is the reset button.

Three small changes. Start today. πŸ’ͺ

πŸͺ‘ Poor posture isn't just about how you look.

It's about how your body functions.

When you sit slouched, head forward, shoulders rounded for hours at a time your spine is under constant load. Muscles fatigue, joints compress, and the nervous system pathway that runs through your spine begins to experience interference.

Over time this shows up as:

β†’ Chronic neck and upper back pain
β†’ Headaches that won't go away
β†’ Fatigue and decreased energy
β†’ Reduced lung capacity from a compressed chest
β†’ A nervous system that can't communicate as clearly as it should

The scary part, most people adapt to it so gradually they don't notice how much it's affecting them until it becomes a real problem.

Your posture is a window into your spinal health. And your spinal health is a window into how well your entire body is functioning.

This month we're breaking it all down. πŸ’š

βœ… Before the school year gets into full swing β€” run through this quick checklist:

1. Backpack weight and fit.
No more than 10–15% of body weight. Both straps on, worn high and snug. If they're leaning forward when they walk, it's too heavy.

2. Their posture at a desk.
Feet flat on the floor, screen at eye level, shoulders relaxed. Set it up right at home and talk to them about what to look for at school.

3. Are they complaining of neck or back pain?
Kids shouldn't have chronic pain. If it's coming up regularly, it's worth getting checked β€” not dismissed as growing pains.

A few minutes of attention now can prevent bigger issues down the road. πŸ’ͺ

πŸ“š Back to school is the perfect time to reset healthy habits. Here are 3 to put in place this week:

1. Lock in bedtimes now.
Don't wait until the night before school starts. Shift bedtimes earlier by 15 minutes every few days so the adjustment isn't a shock to the system β€” for kids and parents.

2. Check the backpack.
It should weigh no more than 10–15% of your child's body weight. Both straps on, worn high and snug against the back. Simple rule, big difference for the spine.

3. Build a morning buffer.
Rushed mornings spike cortisol and set a stressed tone for the whole day. Even 15 extra minutes of breathing room changes how everyone shows up.

Small systems make a healthy school year. Start now. πŸ’ͺ

πŸŽ’ Back to school isn't just a transition for your kids β€” it's a transition for the whole family.

New schedules. Early mornings. Homework battles. After school activities. The summer buffer disappears almost overnight.

And your nervous system feels every bit of it.

Stress β€” whether it comes from a packed calendar, a new school year anxiety, or just the chaos of getting everyone out the door β€” triggers a physical response in the body. Muscle tension, disrupted sleep, decreased immune function. It's not in your head. It's in your nervous system.

Kids feel it too. A stressed nervous system in a developing child affects focus, behavior, sleep, and how well their body adapts to the demands of a school day.

This month we're talking about how to support your family's health through one of the busiest transitions of the year. πŸ’š

πŸ‘Ά The baby is here. But your body's work is far from over.

Postpartum recovery gets a lot less attention than pregnancy β€” but the physical demands don't stop at delivery. They just change.

Here's what we commonly see in new moms:

Pelvic misalignment β€” The pelvis shifts significantly during pregnancy and delivery. Without proper realignment, this can lead to ongoing low back pain, hip discomfort, and instability.

Nursing posture β€” Hours of feeding, holding, and rocking in rounded, forward positions creates significant strain on the neck, upper back, and shoulders.

Mom neck β€” That constant downward gaze while feeding, soothing, and checking on your baby adds up fast. It's one of the most common complaints we see in new moms.

Chiropractic care helps your body reset after everything it just went through. Restoring proper alignment, relieving tension, and supporting your nervous system so you can recover fully β€” and show up for your little one. πŸ’š

🀰 Most people know chiropractic care can help with back pain during pregnancy.
But that's just the beginning.

Here are some of the lesser known benefits expectant moms report with consistent chiropractic care:

β†’ Better sleep β€” proper spinal alignment reduces the discomfort that makes it hard to get comfortable at night.
β†’ Reduced nausea β€” adjustments that support the nervous system can help regulate the digestive functions that contribute to morning sickness.
β†’ Less heartburn β€” spinal and postural alignment takes pressure off the digestive system as the baby grows.
β†’ Decreased sciatica β€” pelvic balance reduces the pressure on the sciatic nerve that causes that sharp, shooting leg pain.

Pregnancy is hard enough. Chiropractic care is one way to make it more comfortable β€” naturally. πŸ’š
