🌏 **AANHPI Breastfeeding Week is August 15–21, 2026!** 🌏

This week, we’re recognizing and celebrating the diverse experiences, traditions, cultures, and stories of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander families.

This year’s theme is **“Better Data, Better Care for AANHPI Families.”** 💛

Better data helps us understand the unique experiences and needs of AANHPI families—and that understanding can lead to better support, better resources, and better care.

Throughout the week, let’s celebrate AANHPI families, elevate their voices, and continue working toward a breastfeeding and chestfeeding support system where every family feels seen, respected, and supported. 🤱🏽🤱🏻🤱🏿

💙 **Your Mental Health Matters, Too.**

The postpartum period can be beautiful, exhausting, overwhelming, joyful—and sometimes all of those things at once.

If you’re feeling persistently sad, anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, angry, or unlike yourself, **you don’t have to suffer in silence.** Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, including postpartum depression and anxiety, are common and treatable. And struggling does **not** mean you’re a bad parent. 💙

The **Postpartum Resource Center of New York (PRCNY)** is here to help New York families find support and resources.

Their website offers:
✨ Free, confidential emotional support
✨ Peer support programs
✨ Virtual support meetings
✨ Support groups
✨ A statewide resource directory to help you find local mental health and perinatal support
✨ Information about postpartum depression, anxiety, and other perinatal mood and anxiety disorders

You don't have to know exactly what you need before reaching out. **It's okay to simply say, “I'm not okay, and I need help.”**

What a wonderful turnout at the 2026 Oswego Big Latch On! 🎉

In collaboration with the Oswego County Breastfeeding Coalition, our OCO BFFNY team joined local families at Breitbeck Park to celebrate National Breastfeeding Month.

This year, we were proud to honor the 2026 National Breastfeeding Month theme, RISE: Resilience, Interdependence, Self-Determination, Empowerment, a call to strengthen our community networks and advocate for supportive infant feeding environments for every family.

We were thrilled to connect with parents, give away lactation support pillows, and raffle off a wearable breast pump.

A special thank you to our guests from the Fulton Public Library for bringing so much fun to the park with story time.

Thank you to everyone who came out to show support, uplift local families, and help our community RISE together! ❤️
"This project is supported with funds from the State of New York."

🌿💙 Celebrating Indigenous Milk Medicine Week 💙🌿
This week, we honor the sacred first food and recognize the deep cultural, spiritual, and health significance of human milk in Indigenous communities. Milk medicine is more than nourishment. It is a connection to ancestors, tradition, resilience, and the wellbeing of future generations.
As we celebrate Indigenous Milk Medicine Week, we uplift Indigenous families, birthing parents, and communities who continue to protect and share traditional knowledge around infant feeding and caregiving.
Together, let's recognize breastfeeding as a powerful act of love, health, and cultural preservation.
