Six years of abdominal pain. She’s only 17.
Colonoscopies and conventional testing were normal.
She was taking six different medications for GERD and stomach pain—and none of them were solving the problem.
Her mom came to us asking a different question:
“Can we figure out WHY she is still having pain?”
I’m so glad she did!
When we looked deeper with a GI-MAP, we found multiple infections, including parasites and organisms that can contribute to significant gut and immune-system stress. Her calprotectin was elevated, indicating intestinal inflammation.
There was a lot going on that simply hadn’t been identified by her previous testing.
In this short video, I walk you through what we found and why it matters.
This is exactly why I consider comprehensive stool testing in people with chronic, unexplained GI symptoms—especially when the usual workup keeps coming back “normal,” but the person clearly isn’t well.
Normal testing doesn't always mean nothing is wrong. Sometimes we just haven't asked the right question yet.
