Many applicants assume that completing Form I-693, Report of Immigration Medical Examination and Vaccination Record, is the only requirement in the green card process. In reality, Form I-693 is just one part of a larger immigration filing.
For applicants adjusting status in the United States, Form I-485 is the main application, and USCIS may also require additional forms, identity documents, financial support documents, and case-specific evidence depending on the applicant’s category and circumstances.
The immigration medical exam is important because it documents whether the applicant meets the health-related admissibility requirements, but it does not replace the rest of the green card application package.
A properly completed Form I-693 helps support the case, while the full immigration filing must still be accurate and complete.
