Join us for the second installment of Think Well, our FREE community education series dedicated to lifelong brain health on Thurs., June 18th from 5:30-7:30pm. Think Well: Sharpen & Recharge – Mental Fitness and the Power of Sleep explores two of the most powerful — and often overlooked — pillars of cognitive vitality: keeping your mind active and giving it the restorative sleep it needs to thrive.

In this engaging and practical session, our neuroscience experts will break down the science behind mental fitness and sleep, highlighting how cognitive stimulation, purposeful activity, and high-quality rest work together to strengthen memory, improve focus, and support long-term brain health. You’ll learn how sleep impacts memory consolidation, toxin clearance in the brain, emotional regulation, and overall cognitive performance — and why protecting your sleep may be one of the most important investments you can make in your future brain health.

This Mother’s Day weekend, we’re celebrating the love, care, and nourishment that mothers and mother figures bring into our lives every day. 💐✨
To honor the occasion, we’re sharing one of our favorite spring-inspired recipes from our Whole Health Institute website — Raspberry Lemon Poppyseed Muffins! Bursting with bright citrus flavor and juicy raspberries, these wholesome muffins are perfect for a Mother’s Day brunch, slow morning, or special treat shared with loved ones.
Wishing all the moms, grandmothers, caregivers, and nurturers a beautiful Mother’s Day filled with joy, wellness, and meaningful moments around the table. ❤️

Happy Nurses Week to our incredible nurse practitioners Angela Katzer and Courtni Parker who bring compassion, innovation, and whole-person care to everything they do at the Whole Health Institute. We are so grateful for the expertise, heart, and healing presence that our functional medicine trained NPs provide to our patients and community each day.
Their dedication goes far beyond treating symptoms — they listen deeply, empower patients, and help people build healthier, more vibrant lives through a truly integrative approach to wellness. It is an honor to collaborate alongside women who are so passionate about helping others thrive.
Thank you for the care, wisdom, and hope you bring to our clinic every day. 💚 Happy Nurses Week!

❤️ Last Friday, we had the honor of joining the annual Go Red for Women luncheon put on by the American Heart Association with several amazing colleagues from AdventHealth including our very own Whole Health Institute providers Angela, Rachelle, and Lisa.

There’s something incredibly powerful about being in a room full of women committed to raising awareness about heart health—the #1 killer of women—and taking action to change that story.

As the Go Red movement reminds us:
❤️Red means GO!❤️

Go take care of your heart. Go move your body. Go nourish yourself well. Go get your screenings. Go share what you know.

The luncheon was a beautiful reminder that small, consistent choices can have a big impact.

To celebrate, we’re sharing one of Lisa’s favorite heart-healthy blends—a 🍓🍌 Strawberry Banana Almond Smoothie—packed with fiber, potassium, and healthy fats to support cardiovascular health (and it tastes like a treat!).

Here’s to making our mark on heart health—together. ❤️✨

Last night was the kick-off event for the new Think Well series, sponsored by AdventHealth Kansas City Foundation, and led by our colleagues of the AdventHealth Neurosciences Program!

Our very own Lisa Markley and Angela Katzer had the opportunity to share tips and tricks to keep your brain and mind healthy as you age. It was a huge success with more than 60 people in attendance!

Excited to continue this partnership with the Alzheimer's Association throughout the year with more engaging and important conversations around brain health.
