OPRMC physicians recently joined leading voices in cardiac electrophysiology at the 19th annual Kansas City Heart Rhythm Symposium, sharing clinical insights and best practices in heart rhythm care.

Dr. DJ Lakkireddy, executive medical director of The Kansas City Heart Rhythm Institute at HCA Midwest Health, served as program director for KCHRS 2026 and was joined by Dr. Shubash Adhikari, Dr. Douglas Darden, Dr. Rangarao Tummala, Dr. Rajesh Kabra and Dr. Amit Koduri.

The meeting also marked an exciting milestone for Dr. Lakkireddy, who was named president-elect of the Heart Rhythm Society and will assume the role of HRS president in 2027.

We'd also like to extend a big thank you to the OPRMC administrative and clinical teams whose continued support helps advance the research, collaboration and care shared through KCHRS.

Congratulations to Dr. Lakkireddy and all who represented OPRMC.

Four high school students recently got a hands-on look at nursing in action during Research College of Nursing’s RCoN Explore Camp at Centerpoint Medical Center.

During their visit, the students shadowed care teams in the emergency department, intensive care unit, 6 North and 7 North, learning how our nursing colleagues use teamwork, clinical skill and best practices to support high-quality, patient-centered care.

They also participated in Stop the Bleed training with Centerpoint’s trauma team, gaining practical education on how quick action can help in an emergency.
