Remembering Compassion

by: Matt Kahn
Compassion is an awareness of empathy. While it doesn’t ask or require you to take on another person’s pain, by being compassionately aware of the suffering in others, you are able to understand the deepest motivations behind anyone’s desire or tendency to lash out, shut down, avoid, abandon, attack or neglect. Such compassionate empathy should never be confused with enabling anyone to take their pain out on you, nor should it negate the importance of bringing criminal behavior to justice.
Instead, it is through a heart-centered awareness of how deeply every person hurts that you find your own pain being worked out in the bodies of others through a wide spectrum of expressions-- no matter how much pain, how little suffering, how often it's denied, how infrequently it surfaces, and to what degree anyone is aware of suffering and the role it plays in helping each human become aware of their healing journey.
Just because you can find reflections
of your pain in others, doesn’t mean you are
the cause of their despair.

Equally so, the pain noticed in others suggests no added healing work for you to do. Rather it is more of a simple unwavering recognition of the suffering others may not have taken the time to process or might be afraid to face-- the same intensity of terror, regret, apprehension, overwhelm, sadness, and despair you have faced or are equally processing. Through the law of oneness, dare to meet each person the way you have wanted to be consoled through pain, no matter how up close or far away your empathic awareness and blessings of compassion need to be.
May you remember compassion. Even offering compassion to the people and parts of yourself that may forget when mesmerized by the stresses of life, a desire to fit in, the pain of feeling left out, or the isolation felt when loneliness surfaces. By remembering compassion, you are never alone but are one with the light surfacing in all through each stage of healing. When compassion is remembered, you are bonded in solidarity by the pain each person faces, endures, and survives as wondrous colors each inner artist uses to express their individuality upon the canvas of the cosmos. Maybe this is why you can’t spell paint without the word pain-- as if paint is a metaphorical material your inner artist uses, where "T" is for the transformation inspired when allowing pain to be met, processed, and expressed into the artistry you were born to create.
As pain is met through compassionate awareness offered to yourself and others, you heal to such a degree that you can connect without taking on pain and learn to choose what is right for you without anything else being judged. Even when the voice within says, “But how do I do this?”, it becomes a moment to offer self-compassion by remembering what is already being done, with your role being the one who chooses to receive healing by staying the course of your journey.
While overwhelm is caused by how often the pain of self or others is avoided or denied, the more often you are aware of anyone’s hurt, the deeper your healing goes. On this day, throughout this new year and in each moment, may you remember compassion and the work of art your life is becoming, no matter the mess anyone’s life may seem to be.

Love Through the Looking Glass...

To love oneself is often not an easy thing to do. Letting go of the limitations of ego - edging greatness out - is also often not an easy thing to do. The unhappy ties that bind us are found in the space between painful judgment and distorted beliefs. A sad memory or trauma, wounded childhood, broken trusted-relationship or loss can create an internal wound that takes root to tightly wind its dark distorted reality within our spirit. In this darkness is an insidious dis-ease that grows in a distorted reality of thought: "My value is based on how happy I must make others; "I'm known as a people pleaser'." "I earn love by doing things for people; rather than simply loving them without condition." "I am not enough." "I need others to validate my worth." "I am only happy when I make others happy." "I feel my partner is responsible for my happiness." "I know that I am only as good as the last "good" thing I did and allow others to judge this worthiness." --These sad thoughts lead one to a false sense of truth. They are empty of the reality that you are born in a light that is magnificent, eternally beautiful in love; you are already enough, you are loved more than you can possibly imagine -even now. For you are a reflection of this light; it is your birthright to shine, to allow the world to see your infinite magnificence, your gifts to share -yes, you have them- and all the glory that shines within! Leave the false, judgmental truths behind, they were never yours to hold or believe; nor do you need permission to change your mind. You're only a thought away from letting go, find the mirror you most use and look deeply into your eyes and state your God-given truths: "I am lovable", "I am enough", "I am beautiful without dissension", "I am an unique loving soul with unique gifts to share with the world!" "I love myself wholly without reservation or judgment." Within this reflection, you will begin to see the truth, self-love is the greatest love of all and you, dear-heart have a choice, to continue to walk in your light of TRUTH, magic and joy or fall back into the false sense of limited-self! It's always a choice. Love yourself. Spread your wings, take flight and allow the world to reflect yours

"Love has already won."
It may seem like an unlikely statement in the times we are living in. But the simple truth is that it is already there! And it is seen through one's ability to love thyself. Self-love is the beautiful heart-centered space we hold in reflection of God's light & love for us. It is only a shift in the inner self to embrace the perfect true essence of "you." YOU do not need the acceptance of another, the approval of another, nor the appreciation of another to love yourself wholly. YOU are already loved, perfect in the non-perfect, beautiful and whole in all you are now and all you have yet to be. It's a simple shift in thought, a choice to believe, hold your faith close within, and breathe in God's brilliant light of love. See yourself in that light; untouched by ego or another's negative judgment. In this heart-space of light, there is no need for comparison, judgment, competition, the yearning for the outside world validation. Your birth was not an accident, you were born to shine your light like no other. YOU are loved, and the greatest love of all is your ability to love yourself ~ the indescribable reflection of God's love for you. Oh, your beautiful one-of-a-kind 3> heartlight, let it shine*))) YourWellpath, LLC

Transcending Fear to Peace & Deep Transformation...
During these difficult days of uncertainty, it is so easy to get caught up in the fear of the unknown. As each one of us comes from a different emotional place, due to the disruption of COVID-19 in our lives, some are losing their loved ones, their jobs, or placed on furlough; while others are struggling with acclimating to the new "norm." And yet others, are working overtime to support our communities and government and to assist in keeping us safe. Regardless of the personal differences, it is a difficult time for all of us. As we go about our day giving thought to the fear and restrictions, we may also find we have choices, much like the fundamental ones we always have had. If we choose to find the positives in our lives--yes, in the presence of the now, we will see them with great clarity, without a doubt. Giving gratitude is a powerful energy that can lift one from fear and the uncertainty. If allowed, this beautiful energy will clearly lead you to a path of light and positivity. Is it easier now to see how one could have taken for granted so many small and big pleasures that are now distant to us? Ah, yes, gratitude is found in endless ways and it will lift you and has the power to transmute you to places you have never been. So, what does your heart hold gratitude for? The simple fact is, MOST of what we truly love and that holds most meaning in our lives is still with us: God, our health, our loved ones, our dreams, our free will of thought, etc. Thus, looking deep within self through the eyes of gratitude, we may transcend the "victim" role to the "creator of our life."
*Looking through the lens of reality in positive thought, the long pause we see in our lives can be a time for transformation. Being unplugged from our normal busy lives, can allow us more time to be fully present with self; rather than being so caught up in our hectic outer world. Using our time to reflect upon our life prior to COVID-19, may indeed bring about some amazing inner revelations. A central part of this inner process is letting go of fear-based thoughts to make room for the energetic power of positivity, it is a powerful fuel-source you already have within you to co-create with God--a new beginning, the dream that was overshadowed by your busy world of just going through the motions of life as it was. The choice is always ours, choose what you feel drawn to...
*Healing love & light to all, our loved ones, our neighbors near and far, our communities~ourself )))
