💜 SEPTEMBER IS RECOVERY MONTH! 💜

Today, Friends of Recovery Association proudly kicks off Recovery Month , a time to celebrate the strength, courage, and resilience of people in recovery and to remind the world that recovery is POSSIBLE.

Recovery is more than putting down a substance. It’s rebuilding lives. Restoring families, finding purpose, creating community, and discovering that your past does not have to define your future.

Every person in recovery has a story worth celebrating. Every day of sobriety is a victory. And every person who reaches back to help someone else is proof that recovery creates a ripple effect that can change entire communities. 💜

This month, we celebrate the people who chose another way, the families who stood beside them, the communities that opened their doors, and the countless lives transformed through recovery.

✨ Recovery is possible. Recovery is powerful. Recovery is worth celebrating.

Join us all month long as we share stories, celebrate milestones, spread hope, and remind others that there is always a way forward.

Join Friends of Recovery Association and First Citizens Bank for an evening of friendly competition, community, and support for recovery in Kansas.

We are hosting our annual Co****le Tournament at SERV in Overland Park on Thursday, October 1st.

Details:
• Location: SERV Overland Park (9051 Outlook Dr)
• Date: Thursday, October 1, 2026
• Time: Check-in opens at 4:30 PM | Play begins at 5:30 PM
• Format: 2-person teams, double elimination
• Entry: $20 per team (strictly limited to 32 teams)

We will also have raffle drawings ($5 tickets or 5 for $20), an Air Mail Challenge, and prizes for top-placing teams.

100% of proceeds go directly to FORA’s work supporting self-governing Oxford House recovery homes and resident resources throughout our state.

Recovery happens in community, and this September, we are bringing people together across Kansas for National Recovery Month.

Friends of Recovery Association is hosting the Running FORA Recovery 2026 5K series across four communities on September 26 and 27. Whether you run, walk, or simply want to show support for friends and family in recovery, you are welcome here.

Every registration directly supports the recovery community across Kansas—helping men and women build stable, supportive, and sober lives.

Locations and Dates:
• Hays: Saturday, September 26 at 8:00 AM (Frontier Park)
• Wichita: Saturday, September 26 at 9:00 AM (Sedgwick County Park)
• Overland Park: Sunday, September 27 at 8:30 AM (Corporate Woods Trails)
• Pittsburg: Sunday, September 27 at 9:00 AM (Lincoln Park)

Registration is $30 for standard entry or $35 for early bird (includes the 2026 commemorative event shirt). Kids 12 and under participate free with a registered adult.
