More proof that audiologists have the biggest hearts!! 💙🐾

A small blue heeler named Pips was born the runt of her litter in West Virginia. A couple who both work as audiologists adopted her, without initially knowing she was deaf, and helped her learn sign commands.

This holiday weekend, take time for yourself. Catch a movie, pick up a new book at the library, or soak up the last rays of summer sunshine by the pool. 🍿📚☀️

Caregivers, we care about you!

Caregivers, the best thing you can do for the person you are caring for is to stay physically and emotionally strong.

Caring for yourself helps you keep showing up for the person you love. Right now, you can show up for the cause too.

The month ends soon, and so does your opportunity to make double the impact for millions living with Alzheimer's disease and the people who love them. Give before August 31. Your support can make a difference. 👉 bit.ly/3UQcTBK

We love to see small changes like this that make the world more accessible for everyone! 💞

When public spaces are designed with intuitive tactile wayfinding, navigating a new environment shifts from overwhelming to empowering.

This KSSB moment says it all: a student using their white cane while exploring tactile tiles made by Sensei for All. These textured surfaces provide crucial spatial cues, helping individuals who are blind or low vision build mental maps, orient themselves safely, and navigate indoor spaces with independence.

Creating accessible spaces isn't just about meeting compliance standards. It's about opening doors to belonging, autonomy, and confidence for every person who walks (or rolls) through them.

How is your local school, workplace, or public space prioritizing physical accessibility this year?

Have you ever wondered if tinnitus can be an emergency? 🤔🚨

Tinnitus — a ringing, whooshing, chirping or humming sound that only you can hear — can become extremely stressful for people. In a few rare circumstances, it can indicate a more serious problem that requires immediate medical attention. But most of the time, you can manage tinnitus with the help of an audiologist and your health care team.

Get medical attention right away if you have any of the following:

-Sudden onset of tinnitus or hearing loss, especially in only one ear.
-Tinnitus after any kind of head injury, like a concussion or fall.
-Tinnitus that is so overwhelming that it is having a significant impact on your mental health or overall well-being.
-You notice that your tinnitus seems to pulse in time with your heartbeat.

Dr. Susan Smittkamp at our clinic is a great resource for anyone who is experiencing moderate to severe tinnitus that is interfering with their daily life. She offers several options to manage tinnitus, including the new device.

Read more about how to understand your tinnitus in our latest blog. https://www.hearingyourbest.com/blog/can-tinnitus-be-an-emergency/

Tinnitus, is not a disease, but a symptom of other health conditions. Sometimes tinnitus is the first symptom of a more serious condition.
